"The road will kill you."  - Robbie Robertson.

Shit, I usually feel pretty burnt by day three of the music fest and I am only 50.   Amazing how these dudes in their late 70s keep at it night after night.

Kadlecik is a guy who daringly risks his life every night for our entertainment.

Forcing your bandmates out on the road because you scammed them for songwriting credits, depriving them of royalty revenue, and forced them to tour all the time, will kill them.

I am getting to the point where it has to be something really special to get me to attend a Sun-Wed show.

Yes, as a semi active musician I can't comprehend how some do the over and over.

I'm in Dave's camp re The Band.  Robbie is a pile o shit.  Never would I have guessed that in any way I would cross gigs with any of those guys.  When I did it was a punch to the face of the reality of the music business.  Like Garcia they held their briefcase close to the chest.

"The road will kill you."  - Robbie Robertson.

I was watching something recently (having a senior moment and can't recall exactly what*) and some musicians who have been on the road for decades mentioned Robbie saying that and basically laughed him off as a lightweight because when Robertson said it he'd only been on the road 15 years.

It's worth remembering that if you're on the A-list of touring acts your travel and accommodations are all top flight and probably don't take a whole lot out of you (and if you're Stones level you get three days off between gigs).  It's the guys still playing 300 seat clubs that drive themselves that amaze me.

* But I'm betting someone here will remember it.

*It was the Trey documentary

Robbie is a punk ass bitch, end of story. When he left, I didn't miss him at all.

The Band's live sound improved greatly when a better guitarist,  Jim Weider stepped in.

The only two times I have ever seen the phrase "Fucktard" on this page were regarding Paul Simon not giving writing credit to the Los Lobos members of his Graceland recording band and Robbie Robertson.

I recorded a CD at Levon's barn in 2005.... and no one ever uttered that Fucktard's name in the Church of Helm.

See em while you can. Ain't no present like the time.

When has he toured that much?

he has been laying out with ALL that Band money

LOL.

>>"The road will kill you."  - Robbie Robertson.

I watched the Trey documentary on my flight last week and enjoyed it.  He commented how during The Last Waltz, Robertson says how touring the last 15 years has beaten them down and he starts laughing at how much longer Phish has been touring.
