This season has a fucked up vibe to it right from the start, don't it ? The electronic surveillance cheating scandal has taken away a lot of the excitement I usually start feeling this time of year. Yankees, one of the teams who got jacked by houston got Cole, but just lost Severino for the year so kiss their season bye bye. Red sox, no matter what they release about Cora, will be feeling the cheating scandal trickle down. Astros fucked. Lots of teams wondering why us and what if. Game integrity permanently damaged. America damaged. Par for the course in the days of trump I suppose. Gonna be a fucked up year in more ways than one.

It will be a great year. The Astros scandal has generated more interest than any offseason ever. The Yankees will be fine. They still have Cole, Tanaka and Happ, and will get Paxton back in a couple of months. If their young arms can't fill the back end of the rotation, they'll just sign a free agent or make a trade. No team with that line-up is "done". Watching the A's and Angels trying to kick the Astros to the curb will be interesting in the West, and the Central will be a dogfight between the Twins, the Tribe and the reloaded White Sox. Another year of rebuilding for my O's, as our prospects get that much closer to the big show and Chris Davis' contract comes another year close to expiring.

National league baseball is boring. Interleague play is just about as bad. I want to see power hitters blowing out stitches and a brisk pace of play.

As a Red Sox fan, the Yankee season is far from lost because of severino . They won't run away with the division as previously thought but they will win it and likely be in at least the al champ season. As for the nl being boring , fuck the DH and guys who strike out 200 times a year, small ball. Is baseball

Happ is washed up and Paxton
Happ is totally washed up and Paxton has never pitched enough innings(162) in his career to qualify for the ERA Title.
Cole's first season with the pressure of New York with that short right field porch?
If the baseball this year won't produce as many homers as last year, you can still count on Stanton & Judge to approach 400 plus strikeouts.
Go Rays!!

I agree with Herbal Dave. As
I agree with Herbal Dave. As scandals go this one is minor and will blow over by the third game of the season. Other than the Astros the only integrity lost in my eyes is by the teams that allowed themselves to get played by something likely 90% of the teams knew or should have known was going on.
The Astros are the ones who will suffer ongoing effects on this deal, mostly because they've handled it incorrectly from the start and continue to mishandle it badly. Just the other day they had some poor lackey go into the stands and take away someone's sign that read "Houston *'s". That's not going to help them and they'll certainly see lots more of that type of thing; do they play in Philly this year?
If they had immediately fallen on the sword, shed some tears and fully admitted it the whole thing would have been history for them by this time next year, but they seem to be systematically making the it all worse with every action they take. Too bad, because they were a good team built the right way and fun to watch. Now it will be fun to watch how they deal with the endless walk of shame they're going to face everywhere they go.
Personally, as a Giants fan I'm resolved to just enjoy watching the new organization's process of trying to rebuild a team from nothing, which in it's own way is entertaining as a fan, especially if the rebuild ultimately works.
GO GIANTS!!!!!!

What's the over/under for Astros HBP?
I agree Tom. Watching the young kids and trying to rebuild a dynasty is fun. Especially if you don't expect to win over 75 or 80 games. You never know about comeback years or breakouts. But I think those blue bastards down south have the division sowed up for a few yrs. San Diego is up and coming, but maybe not there yet.
Damn I love Baseball.

Jesus Fucking Christ Severino went 1-1 and barely pitched last year and because he won't pitch this season, the Yankees season is over?
