Rod has really hedged on his legacy with The Faces. While perhaps not quite the virtuoso level of the version of The Jeff Beck Group he and Ron Wood (on bass) were in, they were his best group. The chemistry and songwriting were sublime. He blew off numerous chances to do a reunion while Ian McLagan was alive.
I'd love to see a proper Faces reunion show, without any of Rod's post 1975 solo material. Pete Sears would be an obvious candidate as he was a participant in Rod's early 70's solo work (along with the two Ronnies, Kenney and Mac), and can play keyboards. Maybe get Pete Townshend to cover his buddy Ronnie Lane's bass parts (Pete played the bass parts on the Thunderclap Newman album he produced, so it's not that much of a push).
So many great songs in their catalog. Rod's voice should still be able to handle "Ooh La La".
Interesting, Dave. I pretty much agree. Pete and Rod haven’t met again since those days, to my understanding. Having last seen Rod in 2016 (he was great), his quality looks to be dropping rather quickly.

Fantastic! And it's a hoot to see/hear a couple dozen bowed instruments backing them up.
Here's another video with a bit more of a "rough mix":

Glad they did this, hope there's more coming.
