This looks interesting. With Steve Jordan as musical director, there is some speculation that Keith Richards might show up. This would be right up John Mayer's wheelhouse too.
I haven't seen Steve Cropper's name around in a long time, good to see he's still picking.
Not really my cup of tea with constantly changing artists, and really, how much blues can one take in a night, but it still looks like a fun couple of shows.
I met B.B. King when I was twelve years old. He was three hundred pounds of the living, breathing, blues. He was wearing a finely tailored suit, gold rimmed glasses with a gold chain, a gold watch, and gold and diamonds on most of his fingers, as were the three members of his entourage. The hair on my neck stood up when he walked into the room (actually it was a trailer) as I had only ever seen him in magazines or on videos. He was very kind, and when he spoke to me he gave his full attention. He gave me a bandana with his picture on it, which I still have. One of the most surreal experiences I can remember.
As blues men go; there was B.B. King, and there are all the others.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, The Cap's all-star tribute to B.B. King featuring Ann Wilson of Heart, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, John Scofield, Little Steven, Robert Cray, Susan Tedeschi, Warren Hayes, and many more, will now be formed into one King-sized night of unforgettable music on Sunday, February 16. As part of this adjustment, we're excited to announce that Ann Wilson, Little Steven, Jamey Johnson, and Christone “KINGFISH” Ingram are joining Sunday's lineup.
Well, it seems tickets weren't selling so 2 nights got jammed into 1. $200 for GA floor is a bit pricey, and for me these rotating musician shows are
usually more disappointment than anything else. There will be moments, but no surprise they couldn't sell 2 nights worth.
