That's a fuckin tour.

“I think this is pure. We went off into a lot of things. There’s no jamming,” Chris Robinson tells Rolling Stone in an upcoming interview. “There’s no extraneous stuff. This is the purest Black Crowes that people first [heard] … I hope we reconnect with some people who lost their way with us because of all of our other shit we were doing.”

Odds they will not finish tour due to sibling bickering: 5:2

^In addition to too many stops and too big of venues.

a disaster in the making.

>>.Odds they will not finish tour due to sibling bickering: 5:2

Started to say the same thing.   See them early, they won't make the end of tour shows.

They're doing various VIP packages along with meet-and-greets. Can you imagine the excitement Chris and Rich would have mingling with fans?

I was mildly excited when I heard about this tour. But now that I"ve seen the backing musicians, the venues and the prices/details = HARD PASS.

They are playing outdoor sheds in the middle of summer....with no extra jamming............

Curious who they get to open.

I was mostly interested until I saw prices.  I'll certainly hold out and expect price drop or get lawn.

Can they really sell both Concord and Shoreline in the Bay Area? Last time around it was one night at Bill Graham auditorium and I couldn't give away a ticket.

“Well, you can sure tell who won their tickets on the radio...”

I saw them with Oasis at Deer Creek about 20 years ago when both bands were still huge and it wasn't a sell-out then. Now they're playing there by themselves in 2020?

Most of these venues will be half sold.

VIP with a head full of spin and some very uncomfortable questions.....could be fun and dangerous

Lawn tix for the Lakewood Amp in Atlanta, $24.75. Doesn't seem that bad until you tack on the 73% service fee of $18.25. $43 for lawn. I will probably wait to pick up tix on this one. Lakewood is on the larger side as far as the sheds go. $43 is still not too bad.

>>>Can they really sell both Concord and Shoreline in the Bay Area... Most of these venues will be half sold<<<

It's a Live Nation tour, where they're paying the band a set price for the full tour and all/most of the shows are in their venues, so they want as many shows as they can get. Depending on the numbers and all the various ancillary profits it doesn't always matter if individual shows are sold out or not.

And because of all the dough involved I seriously doubt the brothers will shut down the tour before it's over.

Different busses, different dressing rooms, LOTS of zero's in the bank account have a way of keeping a show running.

BTW, Isaiah Mitchell is a RIPPIN' guitar player.

Very good choice there IMO.

If I were going to see this band live, which I probably won’t, I’d definitely wait until the day of the show to buy tickets as I’m sure you’ll get them for a deep discount. The Black Crowes belong in theaters, not sheds, unless they’re part of a bill.

Chris can shake his moneymaker all he wants, he isn’t coming close to selling out the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

Curious Nashville gets two nights...same show...just cause it's a small venue?

>> And because of all the dough involved I seriously doubt the brothers will shut down the tour before it's over. <<

Agreed (greed!)

By the end of the tour they will have a partition between them on stage like The Dating Game.

Ah Live Nation. I just saw this available for the Black Crowes shows...

NO NEED TO PACK A THING! Leave that bulky bag at home. All you need to do is bring yourself, your show ticket, your blanket ticket and the deeply-rooted desire to have a GREAT TIME! Your blanket will be waiting for you and available for pickup at the lawn chair booths. Show the staff your ticket, walk away with a blanket and it's yours to keep! The blanket sits two to three of your closest friends. THIS IS NOT A CONCERT TICKET!

I bet the 20-something genius who came up with that idea got a bonus, and is seen as a fast-riser in the LN world.

Sell a $2.00 blanket for $20? BRILLIANT!!!

And the best part is if you go for this great advance blanket deal you need to pay $13.30 in fees on the $20 purchase.

The fabulous folks at Live Nation are always looking for new ways to enhance our experience.

deeply-rooted = well endowed

Diferent busses, different dressing rooms, LOTS of zero's in the bank account have a way of keeping a show running.

LOL! Money makes the world go round....

LOLOL! See above comment!

No Marc - No Steve - No Sven ??

Who's gonna put the kabash to the tantrums ?

They got a lotta nerve calling this a Crowes tour.

This would be better as a Theatre tour.

>>>>This would be better as a Theatre tour.

exactly. even on their best day the Black Crowes don’t belong in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Presented by Huntsman.

Not with your ears.

[Variation on a classic]wink

Don't care - I will be at the Toronto show with a buddy having a ball, like the other dozen or so times we've seen them.

Would I prefer Ford and Colt and Gorman and Sven and Aubrey? Sure. Do I care? Nah, not really.

Honestly - do a hits show, please... Save the 11 minute transition into Wiser Time and pretend you're Bob Seger up there - gimme 22 5-minute-hits I can sing along to with a beer in one hand and an old fashioned joint in the other. Rich - if you're feeling spry, tack on another 8 bars to Jealous Again and give'r dude, but I am totally fine with them not tossing in 3 "here's a new tune we think you're really gonna like..."

I don't have a Doobie Bros/REO Speedwagon/Kansas/ Journey/Boston/Def Leppard/Quiet Riot/Cinderella/The Fixx/Flock of Seagulls moldy-oldie yacht rock show to go be a yahoo at (and Rush isn't coming back anytime soon) - so I am totally taking this opportunity.

My wife isn't going to be happy, because the mullet growing starts now with the end of next July as the goal.

Crack Blows

The black Crowe’s have 22 “hits”?

At least the tour is appropriately named.

>>>Would I prefer Ford...<<<

Isaiah Mitchell is the best guitar player that band has ever had.

If they let him play.

If they do the shows might actually be good, and if you're a fan they might actually be damn good. But their drummer should be in this band.

And seeing a show in a half-full shed isn't the worst way to see a rock 'n roll show.

The venues might even stub you cheapskates off the lawn.

>>Isaiah Mitchell is the best guitar player that band has ever had. If they let him play.

Check him out in his band Earthless.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgwkyN6lScg&t=485s

Would be cool if Earthless opened up, but they wouldn't want the opener to blow them off the stage on this tour.

Earthless is a good band. Hadn't yet realized that connection.

Black Crowes had some crossover pop rock numbers 30 years ago to keep the pool boys happy while we still saw Jerry.

Tour has sold out...sorry folks.

I forgot to get excited about this

>No Marc - No Steve - No Sven ??

Oh, you haven't heard?  Chris and Rich's asskissers have convinced them that it was the other guys that were really the route of the Crowes issues.  They were pitting Rich and Chris against each other to further their own agenda.    Lol.... It's so ridiculous.  The talent in Chris's band died and his wife left him = Black Crowe's tour.  Rich should have some sense or some balls and at least included Gorman.

^ $20 show alert

$24.

No way Marc Ford was gonna be part of this. Or Gorman for that matter. These dudes Chris hired are gonna be making about $100 a night.

Phil would be proud.

The Black Crowes “She Talks to Angels” on the Howard Stern Show

1 I liked isiah

2 I like cheapskates and getting stubbed (or more)

3 sounds a lot like dead & co to me. Charging / making a ton of money for....

No jamming.

Not sure I've ever heard someone attempting to pump up a tour by saying they aren't going to jam. Is that a big segment of the Black Crowes fan base, people who don't like jamming?

I would think 7,000 to 8,000 people at a lot of these sheds but I could be wrong.

>>> Not sure I've ever heard someone attempting to pump up a tour by saying they aren't going to jam. Is that a big segment of the Black Crowes fan base, people who don't like jamming?

Seems like they started to stray into more of a jam band from Amorica onward and record sales and popularity declined. As soon as I saw that quote from Chris I knew he was giving a wink and nudge to the Shake Your Money Maker/Southern Harmony fans. "Please buy tickets, we're going to play the hits just like they were on the records."

Pretty lame, but the videos I've seen have pumped me up a little and I'll still catch a show or two just because I love the band. And tickets should be cheap if you wait it out.

The Quid Pro Crowes?

They just added a 2nd show at Red Rocks.

Les Brers Robinson will be doing an acoustic tour.  I doubt I'll travel to Portland for this, but if I was local, it would be worthwhile.  I hear good things about the Doug Fir Lounge.
