Mitt just got excommunicated

Forums:

for a good cause (America).

First Senator in US history to vote to remove a president of his own party.

Also last GOP Presidential nominee before the lying shitgibbon.

You'd think that would matter, but there might be no more than 3% or 4% of today's Trumpublicans who will listen to him, the Fox-brainwashed rest, like Thom, will demonize him.

Excommunicated from the Trump wing of the Republican party, but the old guard still loves him and I am sure his vote was cleared with the senior counsel of the lDS so he's all good there.

Woz, the Trump wing is about 95% of the GOP, right?

catcher's "mitt" will clutch his pearls and vote trump's policies.

a nothing burger.

Every reason why the man isn't President today.

^ I agree. A repub politician with a conscience, rare, and surely destined to be unpopular with the rank + file.

Thom is right.

Mitt does not have nearly enough hate for 60% of the country to fire up the racists and nazis that form the base of GOP dumbfuckistan.

It's kind of amazing that the one Republican to show any sign of a political conscience is Mitt R.
At least it's better then John Bolton. I guess.

Balls, respect.

After just 13 months, and with just one vote, Mitt Romney has brought more respect to the office of United States Senator from Utah than Orrin Hatch did in 42 years.

lol if not so sad and depraved

"It's hard for me to imagine a more serious attack on the constitution & on a republic like ours than saying that a president would be able to enlist a foreign government to corrupt our elections to keep in power."

-Sen. Mitt Romney

ROMNEY DIDN'T KILL HIMSELF

Sorry, just practicing.

Our Utah dickhead clingons are in session up on the hill.

You might recognize the name of the sponsor of the censure resolution, Rep. Phil Lyman, R-Blanding. He's the a-hole who was a county commissioner in San Juan County when the commission was able to keep the commission white majority before the lawsuit and redistricting that gave the majority Native population proper representation. And he led the ATV ride through sensitive lands and Native American ruins in Recapture Canyon a month or so after the BLM back down with the Bundy's. Ryan Bundy traveled over from Nevada to participate. Lyman ran for legislator after another anti-environmental radical, Mike Noel from Kanab, decided to retire. His conviction for desecrating public lands made him a shoo-in in that country.

Once again, Mitt shows courage by coming back to address these clowns face to face. Of course, with Utah legislators, logic and legalities mean nothing.

A state representative called Thursday for U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney to be censured for his vote to convict President Donald Trump for abuse of power, the same day Romney came to Utah’s Capitol to meet privately with Republicans leaders of the Legislature to explain his action.

The censure resolution pairs with a bill filed last week that would give Utah voters the ability to recall their U.S. senators that is attracting even more attention now that Romney broke with his party. Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson, R-Kaysville, also filed a resolution “paying tribute” to Trump.

The GOP leaders of the state Senate, however, expressed little interest in going after Romney, or even in supporting Wilson’s resolution, saying it was time to move on from the divisive issue of the impeachment.

The sponsor of the censure resolution, Rep. Phil Lyman, R-Blanding, said he didn’t want Utah’s relationship with Trump to be “damaged by the actions of Sen. Romney.” Lyman attended the House leadership meeting with Romney.

“I wanted to send a message that Utah supports President Trump,” Lyman said. “I didn’t want that message to be lost.”

Romney flew overnight from Washington to Utah and spent the morning in private meetings with the Republican legislative leadership of first the Senate and then the House. He made no public appearances at the Utah Capitol and is expected to return to Washington Friday.

SMDH Is Mitt yall’s white Jesus now or what?

wow

Just reporting the news, dude. Calm down. For some, the reaction in Utah is noteworthy.

Had people (many progressives) at the Fed building thanking him the other day. While his Republican cronies in the legislature castigate him. Still have never, nor would I ever, vote for him.

Plenty calm over here

I just think it’s quite pathetic, I’m certain you can understand.

Yes, I do. It's really sad that doing what's obviously right is such an anomaly these days, and that it draws such attention. I'm a little scared for this country. Putin's laughing like a mo-fo.
