Scott Amendola jazz group at TxR live right now, Phil sitting in later

Forums:

I didn't know this was happening. Damn, I might have made the effort to get up there for this.

At least we can always rely on deadheadland these days.

It will be interesting to see what Phil does with this group.

Watch if you can...

bigger than a cadilac..   hey gettin old - do you like that drummer?????

Phil starts playing at the 30 minute mark, for those who are interested

Well that sure wasn't the Family Band.

Pretty funny that Phil needed to tell the guitar player to take a solo!

Would have loved to see a little more attention given to this, clearly just a fun little ditty that seemed completely non-rehearsed, no one seemed to know the music and Sugaree not at all. They should have just stayed in Dark Star and taken it out. Still, a fun little goof, and damn the Amendola music before Phil came out was excellent, as usual.

I'm disappointed that Mr. Deadheadland didn't stream the 2nd set with Scott's band. Still, cool that he takes so much of his time to do his thing.

Carry on!

Thx for sharing.

Apparently Dark Star isn't everyone's go to jam.
Phil tried.

I don't think any of those three guys knew the music at all. They all just sort of stood there, either intimidated by Phil or just waiting for something to happen. When they finally realized it was OK to play it started to sound pretty cool.

That reminds me of my first time hearing Dark Star. I asked when does the song start and my friend said, "Dude, they've been playing it for ten minutes."

Oh.
