If any of you have ever seen Harmony Korrine's movie "Gummo", you have experienced it's display of dysfunctionalist society.
Today, we have these folks strutting around with their guns on, of all days, MLK Day, essentially terrifying a community on what should be a holiday celebrating peace and unity.
Ain't that 'Mericah?

I truthfully don’t know whether to laugh or run when I see septuagenarian couch monster types with weapons slung, decked out in never-been-used tactical gear.
Maybe they they are about to go assault the Sizzler buffet?

Yeah, except they go parade
Yeah, except they go parade around just outside of that event, “exercising their rights”, beating their chests, ranting something about a new national identity, rag-heads, the “squad”, Starbucks, and camouflaging themselves from the workman’s comp investigators.
Its like comic-con gun cosplaying for racist losers who never moved out of mom’s basement.

Actually those are all actors
Actually those are all actors posing for media brainwash propaganda.
They (mass media) pick MLK day because he was an advocate of peaceful protest.
So their fake teleplay distracts from what people would normally be doing -- having a day off to reflect upon MLK's role in the civil rights movement.
As many of you know, there are no laws saying media has to tell the truth, and no laws saying they can't just make stuff up.

Just because you can do
Just because you can do something (i.e. "open carry") doesn't mean you should and the irony is these clowns don't realize that showing up like that and parading around in front of the news cameras isn't really helping their cause.
But at least they have the support of local law enforcement, including Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins who spoke at the rally and has vowed to deputize thousands of of these folks if the State Legislature comes to take away their guns.

I should add - the "Silent
I should add - the "Silent Brigade" patches (the ones the two in the first photo are wearing) is a reference to a 1900's Kentucky farmers militia fighting against an exploitative tobacco industry. Instead of working with black farmers against the monopolists, they attacked them to lower competition.
Read about the black patch tobacco war.
There's your daily zone lesson in racism/fascism hidden in plain sight.

That poor husky. What a saint. "
So my belief is that you refer to my Hüsky, who is neither 'poor' or a 'saint'.
Actually, he has few items of value, but has a very rich life full of excellent Food, exercise and entertainment.
My guess is that he has Biked, Hiked and Swam thousands more hours than you or similar basement-dwelling internet trolls.
Anyway, he has no interest in you or the media event in Virginia today. If you met H.I.M. he would probably ignore you. But it's doubtful that you would ever meet H.I.M. as we don't visit Vermont very often.
"Squirrel" = animal of interest
"Bucky" = non-interesting internet troll
"Bacon" = fascinating Food item

Ras --
His Imperial Malamute -- that's the abbreviation.
It is my nickname for Hüsky.
Personally not a big supporter of Emperor Hailie Sellassie (sp.?), but an interesting cultural phenomenon.
Hüsky has various magical powers. For example, he can fly and swim.
Also he enchants Women with a glance.
Of course people might think I'm making this up, but I have carefully observed his activities over =/- Five years now.
He swims, flies and is a Chick Magnet.

Actually 4Winds is correct. The goobers in brand-new faux-army gear with shiny rifles are paid actors and have never gone out duck-hunting.
It is obvious.
Just more "Reality TV" to influence consumers.

So "Deer Season" actually
So "Deer Season" actually has several different sub-seasons in my region of Jerseyland.
There is "Bow-season", "Shotgun-season" and "Muzzle-Loader season".
Each one has various rules and regulations, and people that hunt Deer must observe the rules.
Every time they kill one, it has to be tagged-out before they are legally allowed to drive the carcass over to the butcher.
So hunter Joe or Jane nails one; s/he must then phone it in to the Central Station prior to transport. Tag number is recorded and put into the database.
It's all highly regulated and each Deer must have a tag, which is paid for.
Then each Deer can be transported to the butcher, who checks the tag # and chops it up into roasts, steaks, burger and such.
That's how it works around here.
