Phil Lesh 80th birthday run at the Cap

Forums:

Ticketbastard is showing Phil at the Cap March 13,14,15, on sale date and times are in the works, please check back.

Good eye. Seems likely these will be the rescheduled dates from Halloween, so presumably tickets from those shows will be honored

I kept my Halloween run Tix and still have them via ticketfly/ Eventbrite.. certainly hope they are honored, I just don't trust anything Ticketmaster related..

Keep us posted, My 93 year old Mom wants to go to Phil's Birthday Party again! 3rd  year, And I'll get to close my restaurant for a week and fly in from Lyon again, thanks tommyG

I'm not seeing this on TM or the Cap website. Did it flash and was then taken down? Do you have a screenshot?

It was posted on Facebook by a huge Deadhead friend of mine who uses an app called bandsintown.com

I trust his information.

Here's the link to the Bands In Town page, but the click-through to buy tickets is a 404 on Ticketbastard website.

I'm intrigued but would be bummer if they are already sold out before they are on sale.

Well, Philton rooms are well below $200 right now...never hurts to book that since you can always cancel w/o penalty.

The band is a surprise to the ticket buyers LOL

>>>The band is a surprise to the ticket buyers<<<

Oh, that's going to go over well.

It will be fun to watch all the epic bitching for the next three months.

But I'm betting the shows will end up being good, and almost certainly fun. You have to figure they'll bring out most everyone Phi's played with, including....... THE HALLOWED Q!!!

Those who go will have to do what is maybe the most difficult thing to do; leave your expectations at the door and just enjoy the show/s celebrating Phil's 80th fucking birthday.

Lots of the music will likely be a jumbled mess, but some will likely be excellent, but either way these won't be just another set of shows, they'll be a celebration of something rather huge & meaningful, and that's always a fun deal.

I wish I could be there.

Now let the bitching begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt it will be The Q if each night is various lineups of both new and old friends.  Celebrate Phil, leave expectations at the door, and have a beautiful time.  These shows could be epic.

I guess my info was accurate

I'll go against my own advice about no expectations and say one thing; if I was going to these I wouldn't want lots of different players coming and going throughout a show.

I never like that type of deal, where the groove & vibe can never really set properly.

And my mention of the Q was a bit of a troll, just for fun, but I wouldn't be surprised if all members participate, and maybe even for a set "as one".

That Jerry holigram thingie....looking at flights from remulac now

lol kinda sad.

Itll be family band every night w

One night w larry and theresa

One w warren

One w jimmy herring

But, not all Q together....

Just my "guess"

I agree, Heathentom, I'd prefer to see a lineup develop over the course of 1 or even better, 2 sets, if not nights.

Artists *not* showing bookings in March include: Molo, Sless, Nelson, Haynes, Herring, Barraco, Anastasio, Gordon, Scofield, Law...and of course The MF Family Band w/ MFRJ.

(Didn't look up the Campbells or Robinson or the Dickensons)

it's a surprise b/c they have no idea who is willing to show up yet for the measly pay they offer other then the family bland.

i could see jambones scenario working out exactly as posted.

One thing no one ever said, Dead Heads are not at all opinionated.

It's not a bug; it's a feature!

Don't Know Y but my posts, are double er nothin

I THINK

IT'S IMPORTANT

<[email protected]>Afficher looks like he's warmin up

Presale not happening today?

It is, but by 10:01 there was not a ticket to be had (at least for Sunday)

Guess persistence is the key. Got 3 on the floor but had to buy singles.  They kept popping up randomly.

FYI, there are still semi-ambulatory / wheelchair accessible seats available for each night w/ the Phil80 code -- and qualified ticket buyers can bring companions, too.

I'm already seeing a show that Sunday afternoon, but I'll spring for the stream.

12:01 and all sold out again. So glad they switched to TicketMaster

That interim moment when the application is spinning and TM is telling you that you should hold-on a second while tickets are being made available, that's the time that TM uses to let all the Scalpers acquire all the tickets. By the time any tickets are showing up on the right hand column, they're all already gone. I will look on Stubhub later, just for entertainment and confirmation, see how many are already in the secondary market. If the Cap holds 2000 when they squeeze in max on the floor, I'm guessing as much as 1/4 of the tickets are resales, 500 per night. Anyone else have a guess?

Grrrrr TicketBastard!   There are ~100 GA tickets on Stubhub for each night.  Top asking price is over $400.

Time to wage a social media war on TM and Shappy.

They should have done an old fashion mail order for Phil's 80th.

>>>>Time to wage a social media war on TM and Shappy.<<<<

I'm open to participating.

When I heard about the run, I posted on The Cap FB page: "Is there an alternative to Ticketmaster for this run?"

Great post, hammer! I'll do the same.

Weren't 90%+ of these tickets already sold for the Halloween gig? I can't imagine there were many tickets available this morning....

Dayammm my french wife couldn't 1/2 get it az I was glued to my  tablet from 6pm french time, till I fially tried a different door at 6 30, my  mom ll be 92 this Feb,, for the last 3yrs, I be bringing her to Phil's Birthday at the Cap shoes,ma cant walk so much anymore so we usually wheel her in..the folks at the Cap are very helpful and accomodating, is that a word?,for the past three years Ticketfly set us up in the ada section No problem,  this year However  was abit more stressful, perhaps because Im in France , while trying to order, id get 1 ada ticket plus a compagnon ticket almost put in the shopping cart , only to be fefused error00007

Itried All day yesterday presale too, then I went down TM s web page to the accessible seats problems found a phone number and within 2 mins Talked to someone, he secured my order , I was about to give my

Visa card when the phone just died......owch called em back found another nice fellow who hooked us up phewww all better Now see yous zonaas at the Cap

Don't confuse the issue with facts Woz.

I'm glad you are in Mr. G!  So cool for your mom! Did she see a lot of GD shows in her day?

Way to play, Thomas!  c'est ce que j'appelle la persistance!    (that's what I call persistence!)

W/ Philoween tix in play -- who knows, can't be many available. Maybe there'll be another ticket drop in the weeks to come.

Better solution: Extend the run to 6 nights -- that's it! :)

I don't know if existing Halloween ticket holders have a deadline to get a refund, but I would check back frequently for drops. Hard to say if TM will release them in batches or just as they come back. I'm not going, but that's my 2 cents.

I first braught my parents to the brendon byrne in 83.Mom loved it, pop said it wasnt his cup of tea. Ma Gutt has been to About 15 Gd shoes, including 3rd row center infamouse Nassau show with that Saxe dude,Branford Marsalis, I wasnt there, she braught her dental assistant, who was a deadhead, And was blown Away ,"How did you get these seats?", she asked.

Mom replied "I mail ordered" friends in high places...we've been honored to attend Phil's 77,78,79 th birthday shoes at the Cap, she lives 1/2 hour from there...she is thrilled to do it again

From the announcement ...and tickets from the postponed Phil-O-Ween run at the Cap will be honored.

I kept my Ticketfly tickets for the Philoween run. I think so did a lot of others.

90% is a stretch. My guess is maybe 25%. Good point though.

Maybe there'll be another ticket drop in the weeks to come.>>>

There always is and if you really want to go the tickets will show up for you somehow. Not many are paying 400 at stubhub, day before the show they should come down. Don't give up.

In 2006 i got pit seats for all three nights at the Tower from a random ticket drop. I was just persistently poking around here and there and BAM, hahahaa.

Hopefully we get information leaks on friends. It would be fun to have them show up in costumes so we can't recognize them at the beginning.

Thats my ramble.  Peace and good luck.

^^^that. i wanna be with phil for his 80th yo

Many people used their tickets for DSO.  Unfortunately, the the ticket distribution system is completely corrupt giving those with  money get tickets on the secondary market   The worst was JRAD.  Tickets sell out in minutes ans shortly after there are HUNDREDS of tickets available.  Very frustrating

Nice photos as usual, Howard.

GA floor are now $325 each on Ticketmaster (verified resale tickets)

It appears that tickets for 3/15 are actually selling at high prices ($260 plus fees) on StubHub.

Do you think China Cough fears might jeopardize the shows or bring in some supply and lower prices?

Also, what's your guess on guests?  Jimmy, Warren, Clapton, the Pope???

I'm glad that I got to catch a couple of birthdays on the left coast before Phil migrated East.

Phil Lesh and the Heartbreakers!

Phil Lesh & The Moneybaggers

The Heartbreakers just makes me think - "Who will be the voice?"  No one can replace Tom Petty's voice. and, btw,

After all these years without Jerry, I think, more than anything, I miss his voice.  His guitar playing was unique, soulful and complete with the fat notes that only the best players can play; it's the voice I miss the most.

As for the Moneybaggers, well, someone should take Thom's keyboard/phone away.

That 70th was one for the ages

Chris Robinson was never better with Phil than at the 70th bash - and John K's only lead vocal of the night on Lazy River Road is great.
