What do you like?

I currently have a pair of Grado Labs SR80's but they are old and need to be replaced. Looking for over ear wired headphones.

Sennheiser 650's thru a Bottlehead Crack

and I cant speak highly enough of the combo

why do you need an amplifier?

Don't buy Cowin brand -- the price and sexy colors will tempt you -- but the pair that my office bought me no longer charges and they are less than a year old!

hmm. ok.

i have a pair of senneheisers that were like $75 that are good. the padding though wore off quickly.

and have a pair of bose noise canceling ones for the plane. they are kinda small for my ears...

I was checking out this wireless set last winter -- highly rated, some even rate them higher than BOSE.

Sony WH-1000XM3

I have an older pair of wired Grado 225 that are outstanding but they are open air and annoy anyone around me, I recently went wireless/wired with a pair of Beat 3 and am pretty happy with their sound but I really only use them for travel so the material has not been of the highest source.  Those Sony's did sound really good but I got a great deal on the Beats and went that way.

For the record here you all understand that most headphone ear pads can be replaced right? My Grado's have been replaced 2 x, hell most can even be rewired with better quality wire to bump the sound quality up a notch if needed.

I am looking too and have come down to

wireless/ bluetooth

noise canceling

it is down to Bose or Senheisers at the moment in head to head test the Bose beat the Beats imo, at least from the models I tested.

I bought some of the Bose, Noise Canceling wireless headphones earlier this year. Love them, I primarily use them on flights. Battery is strong, like 10 hours worth of use and the battery isn't even half drained.

I did have a one problem with them. I bought a new iPhone, and the headphones were stuck trying to connect to my old phone, and there was a problem with a button that was supposed to make it search for new connections. Even though I bought them on line, I took them into the Bose shop in downtown Portland and they swapped them out, super easy and fast and good service.... no receipt needed. So Bose has that going for it too.

Just saw  a local ad where a company has $50 Skullcandy wireless headphones for $25, but I have no idea how good those are or what kind of quality you're looking for.

Not a fan of Bose product, that's just me, way overpriced garbage. I paid 70 bucks for the Beats (not sure I would pay full retail on these either) and they sound great for that price point and work flawlessly with my iphone as I think Apple helped with the development and the battery lasts for 30hrs not 10. I travel to China for work and needed something that lasted for the full flight.

I Have Sony Pros  & ear  buds from skull candy and jsound labs.

A long time ago I had a pair of grado's where the wiring came loose from the earpiece. They said send them in. They came back to me re-wired with new ear cushions. No charge. They were years past the warranty expiration. Reach out to them and see if they'll fix them up.

I'm listening to David Crosby's latest CD 'Here If You Listen' on Sennheiser HD 280 Pro sounds stellar! Cost @ $100

you Would be hard pressed to find a better quality product at this price. If good sound quality is a criteria that is..:

Those 650's look great but how do they sound without the amp? I mostly use headphones while I'm stretching which means the source will be an iphone streaming off of spotify. Seems to me if you aren't playing lose less files those would be kind of waste.

Easy Wind - I use the Senn 280s to edit audio. They pick up everything in my wav files.

I use them on my Sony wm-d6c without an amp with fantastic results

Nice deal but I know nothing about them.
