Local elections matter. There were only a handful of local measures on this year's ballot in my town, including funding for schools and fish and wildlife habitat protections, but still important enough to take the time to fill out and drop off a ballot.

Too many people have died fighting for our democracy to NOT go and vote.
Only had a mayor's race here in Salt Lake. Turnout's about 23% return of mail-in ballots thus far. Pathetic.

Just returned from voting.
Just returned from voting.
I presented my SS card, and the poll worker said, "You don't have a driver's license?" I always get a little to a lot of shit at the polling place for not presenting a license, though Kentucky has no state-issued photo-ID law for voting.
They almost turned me away in 2015.

Big governor election today
Big governor election today in Kentucky. Trump-esque lunatic incumbent Matt Bevin vs. Attorney General Andy Beshear. I don't have high hopes, but early returns are encouraging. Trump came and stumped for Bevin last night and I'm worried that'll put him over the top.

All the other Republicans won
All the other Republicans won their races in Kentucky, but it was a great night getting rid of this asshole. Anti-gambing, anti-weed, anti-LGBTQ, doesn't believe in science and wanted to cut teacher pensions and Medicaid. Even a lot of Trump voters wanted this dude out. Total wacko.

Libertarian Hicks spoiled the
Libertarian Hicks spoiled the election for the GOP in Kentucky. Less than a 6,000 vote spread between Bevin and Beshear and its safe to assume that many of the 28,449 votes Hicks has so far would have gone to Bevin. Thanks a lot third party spoiler.
