Not gonna do it. That's all I need, another reason for the gov't to weed me out.

'We regret to inform you, but the results of your ancestry DNA test reveals you have a mutated XYZ fucking LMNOP chromosome, and are therefore scheduled for a soylent purple makeover. You've all seen soylent green, right, which is right around the corner btw (a dystopian future of dying oceans and year-round humidity due to the greenhouse effect, resulting in suffering from pollution, poverty, overpopulation, euthanasia and depleted resources)

Oh yeah, the future, they'll getcha one way or another.

Fuck that, no test for me. I am what I am and that's all that I am. I don't need to know the specifics.

One of my brothers had it done, but he's too old to worry about the knock on the door, he's almost 80. Nothing shocking in his results, even the 4% Norwegian makes sense. Them fucking Vikings were always invading somewhere, including my Ireland.

^^^^ yup

not a chance I’ll be voluntarily giving my DNA to the cops so they can find out “whatever” about me

the past is in the past

Had a friend do it.

Found a lost daughter from a former GF that was given up for adoption (unbeknownst to him). She had the test done and waited for a "match" that he had the option to respond to, or not, and his decision was kept private if he declined offer to contact.. They have a relationship now.  It's not ALL bad stories and exterminations.

If your brother has the same Mother/Father you already know your results.

Not so. Siblings don't have the same DNA. My brother and I have the same parents, yet our genotype is different.

Better retake that Genetics class.

>>Better retake that Genetics class

ahh.  I'm in business- no classes taken of that sort.

i am balkan

>>One of my brothers had it done, but he's too old to worry about the knock on the door, he's almost 80

You gotta be pushing 77.

100% French Canadian.

>Not so. Siblings don't have the same DNA

But close enough to make a match..My cousin sent in her DNA and found a match that turned out to be her older brother. The DNA showed them to be closely related, after talking with him she learned that her parents had put him up for adoption before they got married. He had been registered for a while and was looking for his birth family. She's now close wtih her brother and he was happy to get to meet his birth parents and other relatives.

I sent in my DNA after my cousin shared her story.  No surprise matches for me, however a couple of cousins have done extensive work on the family tree and it was pretty interesting to see all the branches. Most of my family came from Russia and Poland. 97 percent Ashkenazi Jewish heritage, 3 percent African.

I did warn my family that I was sending in my DNA, and gave them an opportunity to spill any family secrets/confessions. Turns out they had nothing to hide, well at least for now. As more relatives get into the data bank, anything's possible..

How paranoid does one have to be to think that someone is going to knock on their door because their genetic test revealed something problematic?

<< pushing 77 >>

As much as possible, was an incredible year.

Years old ohhhh,  not quite. There's 20 years seperation between siblings in my fam.

I be 60 sumthin er other, so don't get on my fucking nerves

If they or another relative have ever had unprotected sex or ever committed a crime, or left their DNA at a crime scene there's a chance their secrets/surprises could be revealed - including  to law enforcement who are know to be searching the DNA bank for matches. Many people discover something unexpected about their own DNA and/or a family member. DNA doesn't lie, people do.

And assuming that you support Medicare for All (or any government run health care), rest assured that once that happens you will no longer have the choice to opt out of this procedure.  He who pays the fiddler calls the tune, and they'll want to know everything about your health when they're paying for its maintenance.

Yeah, cause that's how it works in the U.K, Canada and every other nation that offers universal health care. Oy! Talk about paranoid, sucker ^

I did my ancestry test a few years ago. I've been waiting for a child to show up on my porch, so far no changes in my family tree. If you have done your DNA with this outfit, you get a free week on newspaper.com. This website allows you to search a ton of papers. It allowed me to see what my dad was doing back when I was a kid. My wife's broken arm was in her local paper, no hepa concerns back then.

not so paranoid as to believe in the deep state, Thom, you stupid fucking cunt

Quick question from a Canadian with free health care.

If someone (let's call him Thim, assuming Thim is a him) was in the US military right now serving his country, would he get paid?

If so, who would be paying him?

Just curious - I mean, I know how it is done in Canada - but we're on the metric system, so...

Do you know why it’s so hard to solve a redneck murder?

Because the DNA’s all the same and there’s no dental records.

Bucky, while I vehemently disagree with thom politically, I don't think it advances the national dialogue we need to have between the two sides by calling him a stupid cunt....

^ hahhahaaa it just feels so right

I agree, Turtle. Impossible for me to agree with Thom about anything but the occasional music post, but it helps us all to have an open path of communication and discussion.

Thanks, Turtle.

^ ut oh moderator involvement. Hahaa yes judit but you allow repugnant right wing talk to flow free, so I consider bucks comment equal time.  There really is no way to sugarcoat the obvious, you must combat the obscene alt right hogwash with obscenity. No ? Well maybe next time bucky use the term,  'ignorant vagina'

Joseph James DeAngelo

Identification of DeAngelo had begun four months earlier when officials, led by detective Paul Holes, uploaded the killer's DNA profile from a Ventura County rape kit[151][152] to the personal genomics website GEDmatch.[153]

Golden state killer.....bro

^^ GSKiller caught yeah good job. Always a chance of this happening. I think I know the story : a distant family member, not him,  had the test done that led to his arrest after the cops went thru killers garbage to get his dna to match it up. Is that the one ?  If so its great detective work. This could be the reason future govt makes the test mandatory.
