Max Weinberg's Jukebox

Anybody familiar with this band? They are playing 5 minutes from my house, are they worth the trip?

No - not familiar

Yes Go - Max is the shit

I had tix to Little Steven And The Disciples Of Soul, bummed when he had to cancel because of getting sick.

Can't wait for the make-up shoe.

Just saw them 10 days ago in Park City. It was fun, an oldies cover show with excellent musicians. Quality renditions of the songs, but nothing you'll wish you taped.

Max's left arm ain't working at the moment so he's a one-armed drummer who brought a guy along to help on percussion. At least at this show.

I thought the tix at the fancy theater were a little overpriced at $39 for a no intermission show that ran just a tad over 90 minutes (I had discount cards I had to use by a deadline), and the pretty sit-down theater wasn't the best place to handle folks who wanted to dance to the oldies as the show went on and the liquor took hold. The side aisles got used for that. The fire marshall did not attend.

But if the tickets were lower and there was room for folks to dance and easier access to drinks, I'd go again. The setlist changes. It's a fun evening out. My wife enjoyed it.

Here's their playlist. He takes requests from the audience and that determines about 80% of the show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8NLjUbdiGQ
