Well, once again I find myself with an extra ticket. This time it's Dweezil Zappa Hot Rats 50th Anniversary Tour on Sept 13 at the Bergen Pac in Englewood NJ. Face and fees were $100... would be happy with $85.
once i went to a JRAD show and totally forgot i had an extra ticket until i was at the door...friends gf bails so much i didnt even think about it...an extra seat in between us turned out to be a wise investment. A++ would do again
When I was younger, I cooked in this french restaurant and one particular night we were slammed. Hot rats was jamming on the boombox back when those were a thing. At some point one of the other chef's turned to me and noted that this jam had been going on for 45 minutes. Turns out it had been seamlessly skipping and no one had noticed. Best jam ever.
Will someone jump on this please - Dweezil's band is absolutely killing it. Caught em at Infinity last night. Hot Rats never sounded better, phenomenally arranged and performed. Do yourself a special treat favor and go see this band !!
It was a singles bar, a Tuesday night
The moon was dim, the band was tight
If one'a you don't grab this ticket, I'm gonna be very disappointed. These guys kick the shit out of Frank's, Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life, band. Really. The Rats will absolutely blow you away, and the Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy was worth the price of admission alone. On a weekend night ? it's a nobrainer. Don't save your money, go to this fucking show !! If I lived closer I'd be there, but I don't, so it's safe for you to go.
Thanks again, Ras. Better than the 88 band? That's a bold claim. I do love the additions of cian coey and adam minkoff...but better than 88? I'm looking forward to the gumbo variations.
TBBYNHIYL of course was great, (recorded em both nights at the Bushnell in Hartford), but to me they seemed a bit too tight, too clean, each instrument too precise to written sheet music, like Frank had em on a short leash. In Dweez's band they stay true to the original music but open it up a lot more for the band to strut they stuff, get dirty. More well played solo's and all around looser but heavier playground psychotics. Superb bunch of musicians. Yer gonna love it
Super Seat, you can always sell it there to some lucky bastard
He was a very good musician but he was a dictator in his band, I’m sorry to say. [Laughs] Plus, he was not only a dictator, but he was taking very long guitar solos...
I love this lineup, this is the third time I'll be seeing them. I'll be happy if it's half as good as the Wellmont show from 4.13.18.

You could just use both
You could just use both tickets, have twice as much fun that way. Dweezil can be a lot to take in.

Yeah kudos to you, great list
Yeah kudos to you, great list offer. Must not be a lot of north Jersey zappaheads here. Dweezil's da man and his band da shit, have a blast
I'm hoping for a combo - Grand Wazoo / Waka Jawaka tour next, with a Burnt Weeny Sandwich thrown in for good measure

Unfortunately, will probably have to wait until 2022 for grand wazoo/waka jawka. Next up might be a combo of burnt weenie, weasels, and chunga's

Hot Rats!
The Gumbo Variations was monstrous. Scheila Gonzalez had a strong show. This band has yet to disappoint me.
Bergen Pac is a nice spot, nice town, parking is easy, and lots of bar/restaurants.
