JRAD coming to Burlington VT 7/28/19

Forums:

On the waterfront. Nice!

If I don’t go to Peach, I’ll be there.

great venue ~ should be fun. 8)

Burlington would be a wonderful place to have The Duo as an opening act. There is much, much love for B & R in that town.

Much love!

Although - right now - Soule Monde is filling in well and playing a ton of gigs all over Vermont (and further out - they were just at The Shapital in Port Chester, for example) with a real nice keyboards/drums thang.

please bring back ween.

Bump - and it is anniversary of Watkins Glen in 1973

Never miss a Sunday show....

hmmm.  I'll be up there on Aug 2nd....Booo

I’m heading to VT tomorrow, show Sunday!

https://www.gofundme.com/f/joe-russo039s-almost-dead039s-200th-show

As you may or may not know, the upcoming show on Sunday July 28th at WATERFRONT PARK, BURLINGTON VT. will be Joe Russo's Almost Dead's 200th show. So we would like to do something to show our appreciation for the band to the band. Pretty darn good, to say the least, for something that was supposed to be a one and done thing.

Getting down to business:
Several of us thought it would be a good idea to have a plane with banner in tow, reading " Joe Russo's Almost Dead's 200th.. Thank You!" w/ JRAD logo. This will fly over the venue at an appropriate time so that everyone including the band will see it. This will be funded by us, the fans, reason for the Go Fund Me. Any overage will be donated to a few of our favorite charities however, if we do not reach our goal, donors will be refunded.

^ From the go fund me page. Lol!

I’m checking out the venue, twiddle heads are streaming in for tonight’s show. Having a beer at Foam.

Congrats to papa Joe Russo, thankful the show is not cancelled!  Two drummers are better than one, maybe :-)

JRAT!!! Joe Russo’s Almost There

Eggy at Necter's tonight is a don't miss!!

$3,850 goal!?!!?? It was met!

Why would that cost so much?? Tariffs?

"So it turns out, sometimes babies come 3 weeks early!!?? Last night my incredible wife gave birth to our second daughter. I couldn’t be happier or more proud of my amazing partner for pushing that lil sucker to freedom! That said, clearly “new nugget” didn’t reference the family calendar. I’m very sorry to announce that I won’t be able to make the JRAD shows this weekend at Peach and Burlington. However, we here at JRAD HQ have gone into “holy shit the baby came early contingency mode” and have decided THE SHOW MUST GO ON.

This weekend Scott, Tommy, Dave and Marco will be joined by two special drummers each night. Tonight at Peach, the band will feature JRAD drum tech and incredible young musician Evan Roque on kit 1. Joining Evan on drum set 2, will be one of my dear friends and drumming heroes, Ben Perowsky. Aside from being my percussive partner in BOYFRIENDS, Ben has played with everyone from John Zorn to Rufus Wainwright to Trey Anastasio (Surrender To The Air) and is currently manning the throne on Broadway with the Tony Award winning Hadestown.

Tomorrow night in Burlington, the fellas will be joined by Evan and the one and only Johnny Kimock! We’ve all known and played with Johnny for years. He’s such a great dude and we couldn’t be more excited for him to share his masterful musicianship with us!

Thank you to all for understanding. I was so excited to play these shows this weekend, but I need to be here with my family, helping as my incredible wife recovers from her act of human badassery, introducing big sisters to little sisters and getting to know this new amazing person. Please have fun and be safe out there. I love you all so much and can’t wait to see you all in LA at The Greek Theater.

Love and thanks,

Joe"

Five sets of Twiddle they are on fire

Good for Joe on his new kid, but I'd be really disappointed if I had a ticket to one of those shows. IMO Russo is what really makes that band work, dude is great.

He better be done meeting his new daughter and taking care of his wife by August when they're playing the Frost!

is that a threat

If Russo isn't in Palo Alto next month I am going to slump my shoulders, shake my head, roll my eyes and heave a heavy sigh.

I might mutter as well.

It won't be a pretty sight.

Theyre killin it at Peach right now

And Joe home tonite w his newborn daughter....two drummer sit in....;)

...it takes 2 to replace Russo!

Monster Viola...

Drum tech kid is having the show of his life!

So here is my unofficial set list recollection. O1 and MNS might have been teases.  I didn’t see the airplane, maybe the hard rain that postponed the show and cancelled the stream made it unsafe to fly but the sky cleared by the time the show started.  My son and I had a great time.  It sounded very good and the drummers fit in perfectly!  Looking forward to 8/17.
