"So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run," Trump tweeted.
Pressley was born in Cincinnati, Tlaib was born in Detroit and Ocasio-Cortez was born in New York - about 20 miles from where Trump was born.. Omar was born in Mogadishu, Somalia; her family fled the country amid civil war when she was a child, and she became a U.S. citizen as a teenager.
>>>>"countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe"
Pretty accurate description of the White House.
he did nail that part. I’m surprised he didn’t throw a “get back in the kitchen” at them too.
I wonder how the first-lady, being from a foreign country whose government is probably a total catastrophe and being that anti-internet-bullying is her project, feels about all of this. Maybe she really doesn’t care, do you?
>>>> Ranting on a dbmb ain't gonna change nuthin son.
Good point. Nothing against blowing off steam on a dbmb but Trump is the ultimate tar baby. He has said and will continue to say plenty of stupid outrageous shit, but wasting time and energy reacting to it isn't going to get him kicked out of office. In fact, part of the reason some like him is because he gets a rise out of liberals.
Energy would be better spent supporting a solid candidate that has a chance to win back all the Obama voters who stayed home or switched sides in 2016 and, of course, working on the local level to make your community a great place notwithstanding the daily shit show in DC.
>> A white man and an elderly Native man became pretty good friends, so the white guy decided to ask him: “What do you think about Indian mascots?” The Native elder responded, “Here’s what you’ve got to understand. When you look at black people, you see ghosts of all the slavery and the rapes and the hangings and the chains. When you look at Jews, you see ghosts of all those bodies piled up in death camps. And those ghosts keep you trying to do the right thing. “But when you look at us you don’t see the ghosts of the little babies with their heads smashed in by rifle butts at the Big Hole, or the old folks dying by the side of the trail on the way to Oklahoma while their families cried and tried to make them comfortable, or the dead mothers at Wounded Knee or the little kids at Sand Creek who were shot for target practice. You don’t see any ghosts at all. “Instead you see casinos and drunks and junk cars and shacks. “Well, we see those ghosts. And they make our hearts sad and they hurt our little children. And when we try to say something, you tell us, ‘Get over it. This is America. Look at the American dream.’ But as long as you’re calling us Redskins and doing tomahawk chops, we can’t look at the American dream, because those things remind us that we are not real human beings to you. And when people aren’t humans, you can turn them into slaves or kill six million of them or shoot them down with Hotchkiss guns and throw them into mass graves at Wounded Knee. “No, we’re not looking at the American dream. And why should we? We still haven’t woken up from the American nightmare.<<
~from "Neither Wolf Nor Dog", a book by Kent Nerburn
William L. Shirer's THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH is a monumental study of the 20th Century's most frightening moments. Now, 53 years after the end of World War II, it may seem incredible that our most valued institutions, and way of life, were threatened by the menace that Hitler and the Third Reich represented. Shirer's description of events and the cast of characters who played such pivotal roles in defining the course Europe was to take is unforgettable.
Benefiting from his many years as a reporter, and thus a personal observer of the rise of Nazi Germany, and availing himself of some of the 485 tons of documents from the German Foreign Office, captured by the First Army, as well as countless other diaries, phone transcriptions, and other written records, meticulously kept at every level by the Germans, Shirer has put together a brutally objective account of how Hitler wrested political control of Germany, and planned and executed his 6 year quest to dominate the world, only at the end, to see Germany go down in flames.
The combination of personal recollection and amassing of historical evidence distinguishes this book as one of the great historical works of any time. For instance, he recounts that, from his apartment in Plosslgasse, in Vienna, he personally witnessed how perhaps half of Vienna's 180,000 Jews bargained their way to freedom in 1938.
Shirer explains that Hitler believed that France and England were too weak to pose much of a threat to his ambitions to subjugate Czechoslovakia, and later Poland. The momentary relief of Russia as a threat to his domination of Europe as a result of the flurry of diplomatic activity that proceeded his invasion of Poland is fascinating. There is no relief, throughout his narrative, of the brutality of Hitler and such a large contingent of Germans who populate this narrative.
Although 1600 pages long, this is such a richly rewarding experience for anyone who wants to come to grips with the mysterious question as to how this menace to civilization ever came into being, much less was sustained for as long as it was. The answer, unfortunately, is that most of Germany, for a whole host of reasons, embraced Nazism and the fanaticism that Hitler engendered.
For another book that deals with this problem, why so much of Germany lent its support to Hitler, I heartily recommend HITLER'S WILLING EXECUTIONER'S, by Daniel Goldhagen, published by Vintage Books. Although filled with perhaps more statistical details then the non-professional historian would need, this book helps to adumbrate the themes in Shirer's great book.

As a young man in the 1880s Friedrich had left Europe to seek his fortune in America during the Gold Rush, heading to Washington State and the Yukon to open hotel-restaurants catering to gold-diggers. After marrying Elisabeth in 1901 the couple moved to New York. But by 1904 she had grown homesick and they returned to make a living in their homeland.
Yet their homeland rejected them, because Friedrich Trump had broken the law. By going to the U.S. he had skipped Germany’s compulsory military service. As punishment his German citizenship was revoked. Trump groveled and begged to the authorities, writing to a local prince to ask “Why should we be deported? This is very, very hard for a family.” But it did no good. Cast out from the land of their birth, on June 30th 1905 the Trumps followed so many others of the world’s poor, huddled masses, yearning to be free, and traveled once again to the United States.
If he had written the tweet specifically to Ilhan Omar, I think most fair-minded people would have agreed with the sentiment given her recent statements [google it].
If I had to speculate, he had a momentary lapse of reason and conflated the group [the squad] with the individual.
In my opinion, having been around a couple of campaigns, it was an inarticulate moment that could have been handled differently. If anything, it exposes the lack of filtration in the process for better...or in this case, worse.
Are you going to wear your "Vegans for Trump" shirt at the next MAGA rally? (i'm sure that'd go over swimmingly well!)
As to your oversimplified binary question, perhaps an honest answer from her would involve a long list of pros and cons, relating to the current state of our union.
>If he had written the tweet specifically to Ilhan Omar, I think most fair-minded people would have agreed with the sentiment given her recent statements [google it]. <
But he didn't. He attacked several women of color, all but one an American citizen.
He's a thought experiment...
Can you address the Trump's racist, misogynist attack on the women?
Yes. Current state of division and bs rhetoric from all sides, no.
Bryen, respectfully, I think if you can give Trump a pass for his statement or the literally 100s upon 100s of misstatements he's made over the past few years, then surely you can give her a pass for one statement? no? What's the difference? Is it that we know that Trump is just a blowhard and so it's ok ...it's just Trump being Trump? Should expect more from her? Shouldn't we expect more from everyone?
If Trump gets re-elected I think it could be the worst thing possible for the Republican Party.
I am curious on your opinion of Mitch. While he clearly is doing wonders for the Republican party, do you think he is good for the country?
Here are my unfiltered thoughts, and again, for what it's worth I think Trump did honestly conflate the group & the individual...but he sort of "cut to the chase", in his own unique way...correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a "hate America" crowd that is emerging as a force within the "new left", admit it or choose not to admit it, but it's true. Ilhan Omar and her ilk have made the calculated decision to appeal to that constituency, I think in his own way Trump just drew a line in the sand, which is an interesting move on the chessboard.
The interesting thing to observe will be Omar's next move, is she all of a sudden going to show everyone how much she loves America? Of course not. How about Rashida Tlaib? She wears her contempt for this country as a badge of honor, it's her identity...what's her next move? Play Ray's America the Beautiful as the intro music at her next rally? They will continue to exhibit a public disdain for this country and everything it represents, but now it has been officially noted in the zeitgeist...that's what just happened.
I would say true, since she and her family came here at great personal risk, worked hard to remain and she sought the privilege of legal citizenship as a young adult, at 17, then became an active part of her community and sought to serve in the federal government. Such actions can be taken to reasonably imply a love of her nation.
America is a nation, at least in the vision of its founders (which original vision was obviously flawed in some ways) in which questioning of and criticism of the government and nation are not only to be protected but, I think, are the highest form of patriotism to this nation and its ideals.
There are lots of nations that take a different, more restrictive view of the manner in which one is allowed to reflect on their nation and its governance...such nations often embrace a more simple-minded and restrictive form of nationalism than the messy, contentious freedom we enjoy in America. Perhaps such nations would be more to your liking, Bryen? The America of the Constitution and its guaranteed freedoms seem a bit much for you.
People can emigrate just as easily as immigrate. Omar’s family came to a nation they preferred. Perhaps you would rather do the same?
I disagree. I don't think it's a hate America. I think that's the propaganda machine fox news and others are telling the right. I see no sort of hate for America that you describe but happy to read a fair assessment. I see hate for the leadership (if you all it that) and the lack of checks and balances that are supposed to be in place.
Let me put it another way, what Trump has done albeit clumsily in regards to the obvious confusion between Omar and her squadron, is frame the debate...he's really quite skilled at framing debates, basically observing the obvious disdain for this country from the left and staking out the counter position, an unapologetic love for America. Before the "Resist" crowd knows what just happened he's drawn a clear distinction between himself and whoever the democrats can prop up in 2020 realizing nobody ever hated America all the way to the White House. Does any of that make sense? Probably not, but you'll figure it out eventually.
Bryey, the persistent rash that just won't go away.
Yesterday I noticed 3 --
But after undertaking a more thorough census this morning, we have 5 monarch caterpillars on our milkweed plants.
Proud supporters of illegals from Mexico living in our sanctuary backyard
Yet another attempt to explain what just happened:
It's kind of a well worn metaphor at this point but it's an apt phrase, "3-dimensional chess", not even so much in the here and now, but playing the "long game", it's almost like an instinct to posture or position for future events...what Trump has done here is a gambit of sorts, but he is basically forcing the pink hat brigade to "own it", whether they want to or not, and they probably aren't capable of thinking it through, but like it or not they are now in a position where their disdain for all things red, white & blue is branded as their new identity.
It's their own doing, the Betsy Ross thing on the Fourth of July is a great example, what a gift for Trump, at some point he just saw the opportunity to call it out for what it is and force the left to own the narrative they've created. Know this...democrat strategists are having this very discussion sitting around conference tables this morning and realizing it was a brilliant move on the chessboard, for whatever that may be worth...I'm just trying to explain to you guys what just happened, but by all means figure it out December of 2020 if that makes you feel better.
So, you’re just pointing out the obvious political strategy behind Trump’s tweet, not explaining the validity of its sentiment? I’m smart enough that you can skip ahead to whatever thoughtful or nuanced ideas you might have in response to my last post and stop hammering away at the delusion that any of us fail to comprehend the simple and obvious points you keep repeating.
Republicans stoke fear and loathing to keep people divided. Then they gerrymander their districts to stay in power. Then they steal from the poor and give to the rich.
Everything is a distraction while getting the money.
First, you stoke hatred and fear of minorities. Then you round them up and put them in camps. Next, you send out raiding parties to get those who have been driven into hiding. The armbands come next right?
Strong work Steve. Bryen deflect deflect but never reflect

At the end of the day there is an open hostility towards this country that may be the undoing of the democrats for generations to come, that and the Russia scam...you heard it here first.
At the beginning, the end, the middle, at 2:47am,, pick the time --- there is a deserving and of course open ended hostility towards any inhabitant of this country that co opts the population based on personal greed. Most of us still hang our flag higher than any piece of shit fake patriot republican.
While digesting Reader's Digest in the back of a dirty book store
A plastic flag, with gum on the back fell out on the floor
Well, I picked it up and I ran outside, slapped it on my window shield
And if I could see old Betsy Ross I'd tell her how good I feel
But your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
They're already overcrowded from your dirty little war
Now Jesus don't like killin', no matter what the reason's for
And your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
Well, I went to the bank this morning and the cashier he said to me
"If you join the Christmas club we'll give you ten of them flags for free"
Well, I didn't mess around a bit, I took him up on what he said
And I stuck them stickers all over my car and one on my wife's forehead
But your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
They're already overcrowded from your dirty little war
Now Jesus don't like killin', no matter what the reason's for
And your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
Well, I got my window shield so filled with flags I couldn't see
So, I ran the car upside a curb and right into a tree
By the time they got a doctor down I was already dead
And I'll never understand why the man standing in the pearly gates said
"But your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
We're already overcrowded from your dirty little war"
"Now Jesus don't like killin', no matter what the reason's for
And your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore"
and his robot neo-conservative zealots don’t have a monopoly on patriotism.
This hostility and rage isn’t directed at America, it’s directed squarely at Donald Trump, his enablers, his policies, his family, his words, his actions, and his complete and total lack of leadership and civility.
Have you met Thom, Bryen? He, too, enjoys making dubious proclamations—repeatedly—and then ignoring the responses, assuming people just aren’t prepared to comprehend the complex truths he’s laying down.
His proclamations, like yours, are generally not complex, thoughtful or original enough to worry anyone with a decent mind and the ability to look things up.
Off you go, then. Perhaps a country that expects of its citizens a more homogenous view of country and politics and a less liberal emphasis on freedom of thought would suit you better, but I’m not suggesting you leave. Nothing you appear to think or believe is any sort of threat to the freedom most of us love, or the ideals that truly do make America great (though not beyond criticism). Fly your flag, wrap yourself in the simpleminded concept of patriotism you find so comfortable. There’s room for all types in America.
(I’m not being a wiseass...that’s actually how I view your politics...ignorant, but harmless).
>>>we have 5 monarch caterpillars on our milkweed plants.
Nice- my brother planted milkweed and already has some monarchs!! They're beautiful! Great photo.
Nice of you to drop in and subject us to your tired and played out shtick, Ateix. Hope your life doesn't suck as much as it appears through this black screen. Vibes and shit for your wretched attitude towards us.
New documents obtained exclusively by CNN reveal that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange received in-person deliveries, potentially of hacked materials related to the 2016 US election, during a series of suspicious meetings at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
The documents build on the possibility, raised by special counsel Robert Mueller in his report on Russian meddling, that couriers brought hacked files to Assange at the embassy.
The surveillance reports also describe how Assange turned the embassy into a command center and orchestrated a series of damaging disclosures that rocked the 2016 presidential campaign in the United States.
Despite being confined to the embassy while seeking safe passage to Ecuador, Assange met with Russians and world-class hackers at critical moments, frequently for hours at a time. He also acquired powerful new computing and network hardware to facilitate data transfers just weeks before WikiLeaks received hacked materials from Russian operatives.
These stunning details come from hundreds of surveillance reports compiled for the Ecuadorian government by UC Global, a private Spanish security company, and obtained by CNN. They chronicle Assange's movements and provide an unprecedented window into his life at the embassy. They also add a new dimension to the Mueller report, which cataloged how WikiLeaks helped the Russians undermine the US election.
An Ecuadorian intelligence official told CNN that the surveillance reports are authentic.
The security logs noted that Assange personally managed some of the releases "directly from the embassy" where he lived for nearly seven years. After the election, the private security company prepared an assessment of Assange's allegiances. That report, which included open-source information, concluded there was "no doubt that there is evidence" that Assange had ties to Russian intelligence agencies.
I had to do a few things...is everybody ok? I hope so. It'll all work out in the end, have a beautiful evening :)
Chance...I'll try to catch up to you on the 8:54 thing, Omar doesn't seem to particularly like America very much, haven't really even discussed the antisemitism with her & Tlaib...pretty crazy stuff, what are your thoughts on that? I'll check in later...peace! Stay beautiful!
Watched a little bit of the news conference, I thought the victimhood angle will certainly play well with the base, this is definitely bigger than Watergate, there will be pink hats flooding the sidewalks & bike paths of various liberal arts colleges throughout the country...we are living a moment in history, I'll always remember where I was when that tweet was sent...actually I forgot already, but it's a very big deal, this is your generation's Mueller moment!
We were talking
About the space between us all
And the people
Who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth
Then it's far too late when they pass away
The person who smears Mexican immigrants as rapists and murderers (even grudgingly admitting “some are good people”) is clearly a nativist bigot.
The person who initially attempted to pass by executive fiat a ban on Muslim immigrants is clearly an Islamaphobic bigot.
The person who caviled for years that the first black president — of Kenyan heritage — wasn’t really born here (despite voluminous, contemporaneous, evidence to the contrary) is clearly a xenophobic bigot.
The person who suggests that four members of Congress should just shut up or “go back” to other countries is clearly an ignorant and xenophobic bigot. Ignorant because of the “four Progressive Congresswomen” Trump alludes to, Ilhan Omar, is Somali-born, but a naturalized American; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a New York-born Latina; Rashida Tlaib is a Michigan-born Arab; Ayanna Pressley is a black Cincinnati-born, Chicago-raised Massachusetts representative.
He’s xenophobic, because even if all were born elsewhere, America welcomes all, even those who find, at times, the need to criticize it.
Get ready for another four years of this shit. His base is mainly dumb, uneducated people, but they're going to come out in droves to vote for the fucker.
Weird Steve, thanks for the recommendation of the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. What a well written and well researched book. Been enjoying it. Thanks.
Ok beautiful people, I had a busy day, but I will now attempt to address the celebrated "8:54 text" from the Oracle of Other Stuff, a man so brilliant you may want to put on sunglasses, and just an all-around great guy...Chancellor [applause]

- While I agree with that sentiment, there's a fine line between wanting to improve policy and being openly hostile towards the country, in all seriousness, I honestly do not recall 4 politicians with such visceral hatred towards this country in my lifetime...please, name four examples.

Big day, we'll see how it shakes out, in some ways within the last 48 hours the pieces have just been moved on the chessboard so significantly that it's essentially the end of Pelosi's tenure as a leader of her party, that's a monumental development, oddly enough the Other Ones played the MCI Center in Washington DC the night she was handed the gavel as the first female speaker of the house, there was a rumor she was backstage...somewhat believable given she's a San Francisco girl, there was an electricity in the air of historical importance, it was a special night. I have a really cool hand-printed red, white & blue poster from that evening that I scored in the parking lot from the artist...time flies.
Have a beautiful night, I always enjoy the back & forth, stay beautiful! Cheers!
Bryen: No matter how well you write well, while saying nothing of substance and deflecting and being dishonest and disingenuous
you are as he is - (Possibly more intelligent), but misguided at best
You are a stain on my country that I love and I am proud of I guess I have to take the bad with the good, and you are bad
Just say yes I am and don’t write so much drivel bullshit propaganda and make yourself even more of a fool, And an embarrassmentto the country I love. Go home
Demanding denunciations, asking for Republicans officeholders to say it’s wrong, somehow gives them all too much credit. Better to say this is who you support. We knew this was him yesterday just as much as today and whether you express “deep concern” or even a more fulsome criticism hardly matters because you supported him and followed him yesterday and you’ll be doing exactly the same thing tomorrow.
Big man, pig man
Ha, ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel
Ha, ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying 'Keep on digging'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find
Down in the pig mine?
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Bus stop rat bag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You fucked up old hag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hatpin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Hey you, Whitehouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry
>>Fair enough, but why is she always complaining about how she hates it here? I think any fair minded person would admit that she wears her disdain for America on her sleeve, but I digress.
Untrue. Here are just a few quotes from Congresswoman Omar:
"I believe in the ideals of America, in liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness."
"This country gave us hope. This country allowed for us to develop our own identity and to create our own home. And we should not look down on the next person that is trying to do that."
"Truly, this is a nation that sees itself as one that instills hope and is really about allowing people to pursue their dreams."
"As an immigrant, I truly believed when I was coming to this country that people had the tools necessary to life to live a life that is prosperous, that is just and free. So, every single day, I am shocked with the hypocrisy of this country. That we are the wealthiest nation in the world. But we cannot figure out how to house our homeless people."
That's all pretty representative of her views on her nation (America). I don't see her expressing all of the things (or the one thing) you say is so obvious because she wears it on her sleeve. So, there's that. You're wrong about her having disdain for America.
>>clever, an insult of sublime intellectual superiority...kudos
It was not an insult, Bryen...it was an attempt to point out that you could be seen as feeling disdain for the ideals of America as I conceive them (which is accurate...you seem to hold disdain for those ideals I described, which you sort of agreed with, but then explained the fine line you see in stating them and feeling hatred for our country). I frankly think that you appear to be, at best, ambivalent to what American ideals really are and, possibly, hostile to those ideals. You say that Trump is valid in suggesting Omar leave because you think she does the same thing, so I--validly--pointed out that perhaps you should leave since, from my perspective, you hold views that are blatantly antithetical to American ideals and founding principles and should probably just go elsewhere.
Obviously I don't think that, but if you're accepting such a construct, you could find yourself asked to leave at some point, which is (of course) ludicrous.
I don't think Trump actually has any principles beyond his own self interest and has decided that a coalition made up of his die-hard 33% and the evangelicals who he allows to drive his judicial nominations will win him re-election. I do think he's racist and his history, both before and during his presidency, makes that empirically obvious to those with eyes to see, but I also think that if he thought tacking left on any of his policies would help his chances, he'd do so.
‘You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany, or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk or Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American.’
Sure Chancellor, I get the Alice in Wonderland "If you love the country you really hate it and if you hate it you really love it" argument...well played, really a brilliant move on your part.
whats wrong with me just thinking its ok, not really great but not all bad, is that allowed in this new republic?, and I will allow you to continue feeling that it a bit too dark for your liking, curl yourself into that little ball of hate if you like, it’s allowed in my book.
Thing is, i’m Serious...you seem to have either ambivalence to the ideals of America as I understand them or outright opposition to them. I don’t think you hate America any more than Omar. I’ve not heard you express your love of America and its ideals with the clarity or sincerity she has, but I don’t think you hate America.
That's a real stroke of genius Chancellor, I suppose you could apply that approach to just about anything, Lewis Carroll would be honored...nicely done!
Once in a while I have a thought cross my mind I feel I should share with the group, at the risk of sounding as if I'm defending myself, which brings to mind the lyric "don't waste your breath to save your face", but for the sake of those who may possibly read these threads...if you guys knew the person you're accusing of racism you would certainly think it absurd, that's not to care about it one way or the other, but as a point of reference, there must be others out there that are being systematically accused of racism who just laugh at the absurdity of it all. The universe has a way of balancing out imbalances, like natural laws of economics or physics, it's always in a state of rebalancing...anyways, the point I'm trying to make is eventually the pendulum will swing so far to the extreme of falsely accusing large swaths of America of racism that it may cause an interesting backlash from the falsely accused.
I get the "All roads lead to Rome" philosophy of taking any piece of writing and bulldozing through it to find any argument no matter how desperate, so please have at it!
The point being...I'm pretty sure falsely accusing half the country +/- of racism isn't the path to victory you may think it is. Does that make any sense? Possibly not, but when they discuss this moment a hundred years from now, that may be how it's remembered.
I don’t think you’re racist, Bryen. Your ideas about what qualifies as “disdain” for and, conversely, “love” for this country smack of a sort of cheap fascism, but definitely not racism.
Chancellor, it's completely groovy, I understand the discussion points...and by the way, I don't think any of you are terrible people, but you're mistaken if you don't believe that at a certain level the "hatred of all things America" strategy is happenstance...it's a systematic, deliberate attack on the republic, you'd double over with laughter if you knew the irony of the charge of fascism, it's amusing.
Edit*: Chancellor, it's completely groovy, I understand the discussion points...and by the way, I don't think any of you are terrible people, but you're mistaken if you don't understand at a certain level the "hatred of all things America" strategy isn't happenstance...it's a systematic, deliberate attack on the republic, you'd double over with laughter if you knew the irony of the charge of fascism, it's amusing.

The national survey, conducted on Monday and Tuesday after Trump told the lawmakers they should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came," showed his net approval among members of his Republican Party rose by 5 percentage points to 72%, compared with a similar poll that ran last week.
Among Republicans alone, however, 57% said they agreed with tweets that told the congresswomen to go back to their "original" countries, and a third "strongly" agreed with them. <
“We’re going to take over all the political institutions of California. California is going to be a Hispanic state and anyone who doesn’t like it should leave. If they [whites] don’t like Mexicans, they ought to go back to Europe.”
Mario Obledo, California secretary of health and welfare, and a founder of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
>Here is what the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on anti-discrimination law had to say about "go back to where you came from"
"Ethnic slurs and other verbal or physical conduct because of nationality are illegal if they are severe or pervasive and create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment, interfere with work performance or negatively affect job opportunities. Examples of potentially unlawful conduct include insults, taunting or ethnic epithets such as making fun of a person's accents or comments like 'go back to where you came form' whether made by supervisors or co-workers."
If Trump were not the President of the United States, he could well be facing legal consequences if his comments were directed against one of his employees.
“We have become a Nazi monster in the eyes of the whole world—a nation of bullies and bastards who would rather kill than live peacefully. We are not just Whores for power and oil, but killer whores with hate and fear in our hearts. We are human scum, and that is how history will judge us. . . . No redeeming social value. Just whores. Get out of our way, or we’ll kill you.
Well, shit on that dumbness. George W. Bush does not speak for me or my son or my mother or my friends or the people I respect in this world. We didn’t vote for these cheap, greedy little killers who speak for America today—and we will not vote for them again in 2002. Or 2004. Or ever.
Who does vote for these dishonest shitheads? Who among us can be happy and proud of having all this innocent blood on our hands? Who are these swine? These flag-sucking half-wits who get fleeced and fooled by stupid little rich kids like George Bush?
They are the same ones who wanted to have Muhammad Ali locked up for refusing to kill gooks. They speak for all that is cruel and stupid and vicious in the American character. They are the racists and hate mongers among us—they are the Ku Klux Klan. I piss down the throats of these Nazis.
And I am too old to worry about whether they like it or not. Fuck them.
It’s a free country and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I don’t have to understand everyone’s motivation and how they rationalize their choices

"So interesting to see
"So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run," Trump tweeted.
All four women won election to Congress in 2018.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"
George Santayana
https://www.amazon.com/Rise-Fall-Third-Reich-ebook/dp/B01IA89O2I/ref=sr_1_1?
From the Publisher

As a young man in the 1880s
Germany playing the long-game. Sneaky fuckers.

Zang,
Here are my unfiltered thoughts, and again, for what it's worth I think Trump did honestly conflate the group & the individual...but he sort of "cut to the chase", in his own unique way...correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a "hate America" crowd that is emerging as a force within the "new left", admit it or choose not to admit it, but it's true. Ilhan Omar and her ilk have made the calculated decision to appeal to that constituency, I think in his own way Trump just drew a line in the sand, which is an interesting move on the chessboard.

I would say true, since she
I would say true, since she and her family came here at great personal risk, worked hard to remain and she sought the privilege of legal citizenship as a young adult, at 17, then became an active part of her community and sought to serve in the federal government.

Let me put it another way, what Trump has done albeit clumsily in regards to the obvious confusion between Omar and her squadron, is frame the debate...he's really quite skilled at framing debates, basically observing the obvious disdain for this country from the left and staking out the counter position, an unapologetic love for America. Before the "Resist" crowd knows what just happened he's drawn a clear distinction between himself and whoever the democrats can prop up in 2020 realizing nobody ever hated America all the way to the White House. Does any of that make sense? Probably not, but you'll figure it out eventually.

While digesting Reader's

Not a discussor, huh?

Maybe the shitgibbon is deflecting from Epstein.
But this may also have something to do with yesterday's shitstorm of racist tweets:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/15/politics/assange-embassy-exclusive-documents/index.html
Atlanta (CNN)

Ok beautiful people, I had a busy day, but I will now attempt to address the celebrated "8:54 text" from the Oracle of Other Stuff, a man so brilliant you may want to put on sunglasses, and just an all-around great guy...Chancellor [applause]
-------
I would say true, since she and her family came here at great personal risk, worked hard to remain and she sought the privilege of legal citizenship as a young adult, at 17, then became an active part of her community and sought to serve in the federal government. Such actions can be taken to reasonably imply a love of her nation.
- Fair enough, but why is she always complaining about how she hates it here? I think any fair minded person would admit that she wears her disdain for America on her sleeve, but I digress.
America is a nation, at least in the vision of its founders (which original vision was obviously flawed in some ways) in which questioning of and criticism of the government and nation are not only to be protected but, I think, are the highest form of patriotism to this nation and its ideals.
- While I agree with that sentiment, there's a fine line between wanting to improve policy and being openly hostile towards the country, in all seriousness, I honestly do not recall 4 politicians with such visceral hatred towards this country in my lifetime...please, name four examples.
- sure, whatever
People can emigrate just as easily as immigrate. Omar’s family came to a nation they preferred. Perhaps you would rather do the same?
- clever, an insult of sublime intellectual superiority...kudos
Cheers!

You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Hey you, Whitehouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside

But you're really a cry

Hi, Bryen.>>Fair enough, but
Hi, Bryen.
So, there you go.

Have a beautiful evening!

Falsely accuse? Heck, Republicans proudly proclaim their support for this racist President.
Republican support for Trump rises after tweets attacking congresswomen: Reuters/Ipsos poll
The national survey, conducted on Monday and Tuesday after Trump told the lawmakers they should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came," showed his net approval among members of his Republican Party rose by 5 percentage points to 72%, compared with a similar poll that ran last week.

Cuomo then asked Kobach what he would do if Trump did openly claim to be a racist.
“Then I would not defend him,” Kobach responded. “Because there’s no excuse for racism in America.”
“Would you still support him as president?” Cuomo asked.
Kobach paused.
“You have to think about it?” Cuomo asked incredulously. “You have to think about whether or not you would support a racist? Really?”
“I’d have to know who was running against him,” Kobach finally said.

Hunter S. Thompson:
Hunter S.
