Travel is...

Forums:

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

Mark Twain

Thank you Judit

Mark Twain was wise.   Spent my early 20s going around and seeing the Grateful Dead and camping out in the west.  Although I don't regret it one bit and got to see a lot of the country (been to all 50 states), didn't travel outside the US much until the past 10 years and working hard to see as much as I can before I get too old for the type of budget adventure travel I have been doing.

Looking forward to hearing people's travel tales.   And as another American poet said:   "Unpredictability is what separates the traveler from the tourist."
