I know a bunch, my in laws, a few Nam vet friends, quite a few blue collar workers.
I've tried talking, asking, delving into the Why. Its no use. Like talking to a wall.
Good people who politically are dumb as a bag'a hammers.
All weaned on a steady diet of disinformation that has somehow made them totally immune to truth, so you can't enlighten or even shame them with truth - it's foreign to them and don't make a dent. Therefore they're impossible to debate.
Also the ones I know are lifelong repubs who just ain't changing no matter how blatantly obvious the con. I don't know anyone who voted Obama then switched to the chump. All catholics too, but wouldn't vote for Jesus if He was a dem. These people are severely lacking in the ability to think rationally. They ammo up on Fox every nite, the mainline drug of choice for the terminally ignorant by choice - and that's all the justification they need to support a petulant demagogue
>>>>Also the ones I know are lifelong repubs who just ain't changing no matter how blatantly obvious the con.
Yes, those are the ones I know, like my parents and aunt and uncle. They are all very smart, educated professionals, but tolerate Trump's antics out of party loyalty and unlike many republicans, didn't vote against their own interests. My parents are actually more libertarian than anything else and my libertarian brother tried to convince them to vote for Johnson, but their reply was "a vote for Johnson is a vote for Hillary."
My dad has always been GOP, but in a nice Jack Kemp, anti-evengelical right, way. Now he just reads whatever email lies his right wing nutbag friends send him. Mostly he is mad that what passed for not being racist in 1972 isn't really cool any more. And the confederate monuments, despite the fact that we never had a confederate flag in our house and he used to make fun of people who were into confederacy stuff. Now he's talking about NYers stockpiling guns.
My other Trumpster friends are ones who used to be pretty progressive until they got butthurt over Bernie not winning and now I see that they aren't very progressive at all, unless it is Bernie. But as for anyone else, they would be "worse than Trump". They are buying into trickle down economics in some twisted "progressive" logic. Getting into men's rights and the red pill. Also, Hillary would definitely have locked all those kids in cages and so will Kamala Harris. They also believe a lot of conspiracies and are very concerned with the warmongering "neolibs", but don't seem to be bothered at all about John Bolton being in charge of stuff. One friend only gets news from RT and insists that there was no Russian meddling but thinks that we should all be allowed to vote using our cell phones.
I have one co-worker who believes that it was Michelle Obama who made everyone stop praying in school. Because she is a muslim.
And then there are my rednecks, who just straight up are pissed that Mexicans work harder then them. One friend was HELLA pissed that Mexicans are willing to work on rainy days, causing him to have to do the same. But this guy also liked Sarah Palin, so no surprise there.
And people I know who have been to prison and just like to be ornery. They love Trump. Trump makes them feel smart.

There isn't any difference between inbred toothless Republicans and rich entitled ones. They're all horrible human beings.

Well, the Trump supporters
Well, the Trump supporters are putting their money where there mouths are and I suspect most of this is not coming from the "toothless inbred" ones:

The rich ones get embarrassed when they're associated with the toothless crazy ones. It's why they're often outnumbered at protests and rallies.
