Best last row venue?

Greek is the best one...but i had a lotta fun at the top of the warfield....also the alladin.

The Greek back row is fine, as long as you're talking about the stone seating and not the top of the lawn.

And the top of the Warfield has been excellent ever since Goldenvoice took it over and changed the PA. Traditionally the front rows of the balcony were the place to be for sound in that venue, the top would be muffled & distant, but since '08 the sound is BLASTING in the front and sharp & clean at the very top. These days I find myself up there even when I have other seats.

The back row of Concord Pavilion works, as does the lawn there because it's not a big venue overall (the very top of the small lawn is equal to the back row of seats at Shoreline).

The back row of seats at Shoreline isn't usually much good at all, but is still dramatically better than any spot on the lawn.

The back rows at the Miner Auditorium, SFJAZZ Center's main venue, are fine, but you really don't want to be way up in the little balcony there. 

I'll go out on a limb here and say that the sound in the back of the Frost won't be nearly as good as closer to the stage. That place is much bigger than it seems, it's rake is gradual and it's certain that there will be sound restrictions. 

I have only been in the last row of a venue once. It was the furthest row from the stage at Giants Stadium for The Jacksons (post 5) because my wife really, really wanted to go. It wasn't good by any metric except it was the best and only time I saw a show from that vantage point. As the jets came in for a landing to Newark Airport, I could read the text of whatever magazine they were reading from my seat. The stage, was probably smaller in my field of vision.

Back row is some of my favorite seating for arena shows.  Plenty of room to freek and dance with a commanding view of the lights show and you don't have to worry about anyone puking on you or getting pissed off because you are up and dancing.   Even if I have closer seats at places like the Rose Garden, I usually head right up to the back row.  Sound is great up there and I already know what most of the dudes on stage look like and they aren't getting prettier with age.  

One of my gripes about couch tour and official simulcasts is how they spend so much time with close up shots of the band. Its especially annoying with Phish, who has some of the best lights in the business.   I would much rather they spend more time focusing on the light show than yet another closeup of Trey, Fishman, or Mike's shiny new shirt. ​

The Front Row - Cleveland

Have to disagree. Had last row seats at the Dump one time and elected to see/hear the show from the front of the lawn instead. Instead of being far from the stage and speakers, I was right in front of a time-delay sound reinforcement stack and right in front of a screen showing the stage - much better.

I do recall there being a breeze that came through the chain link fence at the very last row of the Sam Boyd Silver Bowl ... much relief from heat.

Slamming into the fence and bouncing back at cal Expo back in 90? Sugar Magnolias...?was kinda fun
