Mötley Crüe movie The Dirt

Forums:

I have said it before and will say it again: Mötley Crüe sux Donkey Spüe.

However, as sucky a band they might have been, the dramatic biopic "The Dirt" is still an entertaining way to kill a couple of hours.   Good stuff notwithstanding a few historical inaccuracies and the fact that the characters and story line have no redeeming value whatsoever.

Catch it on Netflix if you get a chance.

It's pretty cheese balls, which I guess what you would expect from a Crue dramedy on Netflix. But yea, worth a watch.

The dude who played Tommy Lee was a weak link. Just wasn't able to pull off the swagger.

Ramsay Bolton's Mick Mars made it worth watching.

0 fucks given

I enjoyed every dirty second of it. Let’s not over analyze it and ruin the fun. It’s a movie about Crue, not Gandhi!

All 4 of them approved the book and movie, so al least it doesn’t unfairly disparage one of them.

I hear that the book gets into much more detail, especially about Ozzy. They didn’t show him dropping a fresh massive in a crowded elevator while Lee was babysitting him.

I watch movies & tv to escape and have some laughs.  The Dirt provided me with both.

Fun movie bad music

Crue music is and will always be terrible.  It's part of the charm.  These cheesy, dirt bag, horny dudes against all odds and limited talent made millions of dollars and traveled all over the world.

Well, for a 13 year old in 1989, Motley Crüe satisfied a particular itch that other bands just wouldn't cut. First concert I ever saw was for the Dr. Feelgood tour and I had a blast and knew at that moment that I was a live-music fan. I really want to watch this, not because I think it's good. In fact, I want to watch because I know it's bad. Motley Crüe was never about being clean or good, they just fucking pounded on their instruments, blew a ton of coke and did weird rock-star shit on a regular basis. Not saying that's my style now, but for a rebellious teenager it was just perfect. :)

Not liking any of their music is as cliche as liking anything Skynyrd.

MC never made a song as bad as Layla or Black Dog.

How can someone so consistently miss the mark every single damn time? It's a talent and I respect Knot for that talent.

Nikki Sixx's book "The Heroin Diaries" was fucking nuts. That'd make one hell of a movie! I'll probably give The Dirt a watch. Crue was the shit in my late middle-school/early high school career.

he crashed his car at the end of my block.

woke me up in the middle of the night.

Don’t you have a Dennis Rodman car incident in your neighborhood story too?

no but he got in trouble for his boat "sexual chocolate" and lived nearby....

Oh yeah.  Rodmans DUI was in Newport Beach aka Gravytown.

I watched it. Entertaining dramatization of the hair metal 80’s.. you gotta hand it to em- Motley Crue was a basically mediocre rock band, that successfully created a mythos and brand that has endured. Soooo many of those butt rock bands from that era are now working as janitors, and their songs forgotten

I liked the movie.

Double feature night.

The Highwaymen is worth a watch too.
