The Trump team was presumably crafting a counter argument to the mueller report, anticipating the worst no doubt. I would love to know what they were preparing to defend against. I havent heard anyone mention this with all the coverage over this cluster fuck.

By any calculation President Trump, his son, and his long time CFO could be looking at jail time
if the will to prosecute exists at SDNY or the NY State Attorney General’s office, who — unlike a federal prosecutor — is not bound by the DOJ position on indictability of a sitting president.
Nothing is going to happen unless Trump loses the next election.
The exalted and glorious position of POTUS will not be diminished.

THat seems about right. I'm not entirely sure why the DOJ would still be laboring under the Borkian premise a president can not be indicted, but a vice president can. It was a position most certainly crafted to shield Nixon, and served no other purpose. If anything, Trump obstructed justice. The circular logic employed to vindicate him on this count is mind boggling. A first year philosophy student is well versed in this level of bullshit.
