Yeah that's right Nanz, I remember now that it was your face on that shot.

I was just starting out on the zone when that happened and I thought it was pretty funny. I didn't know any of the back-story and I couldn't understand why Lites was so upset.

Ultimately I thought it was good zoning, and even though I never met him, much to my disappointment, I'd like to think that at some point he may have grudgingly agreed. Then again he might just be telling me to fuck the hell off right now from the big zone in the sky.

For what it's worth, before I put my shots up in this thread I did consider the propriety of posting other people's images, but I figured the two photos that have identifiable images have both been widely posted on the zone and other places in the past and none of those recognizable have ever objected to having their images posted, so I went along with the "good hearted" theme of the thread.

p.s. As far as we know, Lily isn't dead, and neither are a number of the folks in Lance's and my photos. Stalking? Creepy? Sharing photos of ourselves and Zoner friends in good spirit? I don't get it.

Slipfire loved those craft swaps.  I traded a trundle bed I made from ash for a really cool dreamcatcher she made.  It really  works!

I always respected the work he put into those recordings and the length he went to provide that in the room feeling even if we did have our differences over the years.   Water under the bridge.

Duke has made a conscious decision to not post here, so yeah, it’s kind of fucked that it’s “okay” to post his pic without his permission.

If a person is photographed in a public space, there is pretty much nothing they can do about controlling the image. The photographer does have some control. If the photograph was taken in a private space (home, rented room, etc.) the subject may have some control and the photographer may lose some control. There is no hard and fast rule. If you are the photographer/artist you can attempt to do a take down and will normally succeed but the effort may not be worth it. 

p.s. In most cases if a subject wants me to remove a photo, I will remove it because that's the way I roll. I am normally under no legal obligation to do so.

I met BirkenSteve at a gem show outside of Tuscon, but never got to see Phil with him. He showed me how to extract and smoke the venom from a Sonoran Toad back when that was still legal. 

I think he was from St. Augustine. I loved it when he purposely misquoted scripture to get under Buckys skin.  He knew his bible pretty well and used it against Bucky like a sword, knowing exactly which buttons to push.

AlfRED used to seed a lot of vines back in the days of Maria Reine, if that rings a bell. He levitated off of the Warfield floor 30’ back, DFC the night of the balcony jumper. Said he felt the need to move and *poof* he did. Ran with the West Coast Crew out of Las Vegas until the bubble’s burst did him in around ‘09, and nobody has heard much since. I’ve heard rumors he’s holed up in trailer outside of Pahrump, but I gotta believed Dusty Ol’ Red, as he was affectionately known to most Zoners, is doing better than that. I loved meeting BeNice at Strings & Sol this year.  I almost posted the picture of the impromptu "zoner gathering" (in parentheses because it happened at literally the last second before Fafa and BeNice left and GreatherThan wasn't with us).  She is an absolute delight!!!

slickrock -  There is no such thing as a bad room on the main resort so if you ever see one grab it.  Alsoooooo, the other resort is great too and literally a 5 minute walk down the beach (and shuttle run all day and night if you dont want to do that).  Its a really nice resort and gives you the perks of using the amenities at BOTH.  I get wanting to stay in the main spot and totally get what your friends are telling you about good rooms and needing to be there blah blah blah but honestly its a super fun time either way!  Hit me up here with your email and Ill see what I can do :)   http://stringsandsol.com/contact

I had met a few Zoners at a Phil show at Jones Beach, 2001 I think, it was the year Jilllusphil made tee's and I was wearing one, but the place was big , that said I met Fitz at the cd release show for Mule's "Voodoo Lounge" at a NY club I think on 52nd street the name escapes me,sorry I'm old I forget stuff, anyway he made sure i met everyone that night from Huck to PeggyO and her future husband, again forgot screen name and I don't use 3d names, Zeke was there I'm pretty sure maybe Lites. The point being John was the MC of the Zone gatherings everyone had to meet everyone have a beer, talk music, life and of course BoSox baseball, he would be so happy with 4 rings this decade, a true gentleman and I wish I had gotten to know him better

Yeah, my intentions were good but I realized that no good was going to come of trying to make sense of it. It was foolish to begin with. The bottom line is I'm never going to please everyone, all I can do is offer an apology for whatever offended and move on. Also, I don't have a ton of money to throw away on zoner tickets - even though I'd love to, I've already given away $120 in tickets here this month. Had someone taken the offer I would've honored it, but heck, I already apologized for what I don't know.
