33 Hours. No Power

Forums:

What's the longest you've gone without power due to an outage?

We went 5 days once here (Stinson Beach, Ca), and that sucked.

Yesterday we had a transformer get nailed by a big tree on the mountain

behind town during a wind and rain storm, and if it wasn't pounding rain, the whole goddamn thing would

have burned.

Fire on the Mountain, narrowly averted.

Now PGE is having problems fixing it.

Given their track record and the fact that they just declared bankruptcy, it's not surprising.

Yes, first world problem.

Hopefully you don't have a bunch of good stuff in your fridge and freezer.

10 days

it was brutal, even with a generator

it was sometime in the late 1990s... Lost Coast area in the boonies of NorCal

Hurricane Sandy.  10 days.

9 days Halloween Eve 4 or 5 years ago.

After getting back on feet, got a generator professionally wired into circuit breaker box.

Haven't lost power since. There sits unused Generac.

Hurricane Frances September 2004 we went 19 days, 2 days later was hurricane Jeanne we went 13 days without power. No generator either.

That is the month my neighbors realized how much dope those fuckin deadheads smoked.
