Description

This lot includes three posters from November 2012 for Phil Lesh & Friends shows in Montclair, New Jersey, Port Chester, New York, and New York City. Steve Johannsen created each image and the set fits together quite nicely. For each show, 300 posters were printed, and these are the 1/300 prints.

At both the CAP & Roseland I got these posters.

They both have been framed & now hang in my hallway.

I bought the Wellmont at the "Wake of the Flood" show and regretted not getting the complete set after the run.

So I picked up artists proofs of the final two.

lol

My first Capital show was that run, tempting but I'd only want that one.

This mega-lot includes 50 different posters used for Further shows between 2009 and 2012. Each poster is numbered 1/xxx and is the first poster from the run. The artists who created these beautiful pieces are numerous; they include Richard Biffle, Mike DuBois, A.J. Masthay, John Warner, David Welker, Mike Shulman, and many others.

Back when these shows and posters happened, I wonder why The Wellmont Theater poster depicted a subway car since there are no subways in Montclair, NJ. Usually the poster artist connects some sort of venue location motif. I'm still wondering.

Lots of cool posters on this site, too... sister site to discogs..

Consistency over reality Tony.

There is a direct train departing from New York Penn Station station and arriving at Newark Penn Station station. Services depart every 30 minutes, and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 18m.  From Newark, one can take a NJ transit train that stops either in or near Montclair, NJ

The first shoe at the Welmont (11/7/12) was a snowy day. The Theater was half empty.  During Mississippi 1/2 Step Phil ramped up the “prayed for better weather” portion of said song.

there are only 1 number two set too.

Nycdave ~ I am aware of the NJ Transit trains that got to Montclair. The poster does not depict a train car interior A subway car interior is shown. Not that it makes much of a difference in a poster but it is noticeable to those who use all the various mass transit modes in and around NYC.

I have a #1 Jerry print (1/500).  Wonder if I could get stupid money for it.  Maybe Shappy . . .

Interior of NJ Path train:

IMHO this is what the artist was attempting to depict.

YMMV

The first shoe at the Welmont (11/7/12) was a snowy day. The Theater was half empty.

Only 2 weeks after "Hurricane" Sandy, some questions if the show would be postponed, the theater had just gotten power back a couple days earlier

um, are you spamming your poster auction?

just wondering
