Jimmy Page's Satanism

Forums:

I hear he went down to the crossroads.

While a lot of hard rock and heavy metal bands played up the whole occult thing for shock value and entertainment purposes, Page was a far more serious practitioner of the dark arts.

Owned Alastair Cooke's old house next to a loch, called himself Zoso, had affairs with underage women, probably owned some goats, never slept with Bowie, played a wicked theramin, blatantly ripped off other musicians, wore some ridiculous dragon-festooned pantsuits, believed in necromancy, played on records by The Kinks and Donovan=minion of Sauron.

Alistair Cooke? The Host of Masterpiece Theatre on PBS?

Um, I think you mean Aleister Crowley.

Oops, right 6, this is what happens when you post at 4 a.m.

He sacrificed his own drummer!

I only saw him once.

Seems Satan had already begun clawing back.

Part of the same black magic circle as Jack Parsons, the father of the American Space Program as well as L Ron Hubbard.

>>>Alistair Cooke? The Host of Masterpiece Theatre on PBS?

yes that’s him. Jimmy used to throw cocaine parties at Hedgeley-On-Grange and Allistair Cooke and Ian McKellen would bring their nieces with them, it was great fun.

Seemed like a pretty creepy dude.

There was a lot of talk about Page's occult interests connected to Robert Plant's serious car accident and the sudden death of Plant's son.....

Plant broke an ankle and elbow, which wouldn't fully heal for another two years. He spent time in a wheelchair. And the down time seriously crippled Led Zeppelin's upcoming plans, including finishing the tour dates in support of the recently released Physical Graffiti.

The rest of the tour – including North American dates – was canceled, and Plant's slow recovery halted work on the band's follow-up album, Presence, which finally came the following year after several delays.

Two years later, tragedy struck Plant again when his five-year-old son Karac died of a stomach infection while Led Zeppelin were on tour in the U.S. The news hit Plant hard, and he requested privacy to mourn with his family. During the downtime, Plant has said he thought about pulling the plug on the group.

i think i saw the firm in the late 80's. that was jimmy page, right?

I watched "The Song Remains the Same" for the first time yesterday. Didn't love it.

Jimmy's Satanism is still really, really sweet to me, though. Very nice thread.
