The Giants principal owner, billionaire businessman Charles Johnson, is financially supporting Black Americans for the President’s Agenda this phony group aired a racist radio ad during an Arkansas congressional race.
And then Johnson gave to Hyde-Smith after she made national headlines by joking that she admired a Mississippi rancher so much, she would attend a public hanging if he asked her.
What Republicans still haven’t realized is that by hitching their wagon to overt racism and Trump they will not be allowed to participate in urban society. No way this guy can stay owner of the Giants.

i thought the whole public hanging thing was a little weak - she was obviously trying to say "id do something unpleasant if this guy wanted me to cause i really like him", and just said it in a perplexingly unsettling kind of way...i think its counterproductive to combating actual racism to lump small missteps like this in with more serious things. im all for tearing down the next establishment republican but this whole thing about picking apart small, easily misinterpreted statements as racism is getting pretty silly.

I don't care one way or the other if people boycott the Giants. My point was that in the past you could be a little bit racist no one would know the difference, but since the Republican party has hitched their wagon to Trump who likes to put racism front and center you can't get away with it anymore. They can't go out to eat in public and they sure as hell won't be able to own a profitable baseball team in San Francisco.

A super PAC’s outlandish new ad for an Arkansas Republican used Brett M. Kavanaugh’s plight to argue that Democrats could bring back lynchings against black men. It was quickly and widely denounced — including by the congressman it was designed to support.
The radio ad was created by a group calling itself Black Americans for the President’s Agenda to support Rep. French Hill in his reelection campaign against Democrat Clarke Tucker. Hill represents the 2nd District, a swath of land encompassing Little Rock; the district is about 23 percent black. Both Hill and Tucker are white.

FYI. There is precedent for this. The LA Clippers fans and public threatened boycott the team and the NBA forced Donald Sterling to sell the Clippers because of racist remarks and behavior. Not stupid at all.

I don’t know much about
I don’t know much about Charles Johnson, but I would wager a hefty amount of money that he’s not 1/100th the racist shit bag Donald Sterling is. He’s also a a part-owner of the Giants with a group of other people where Sterling was THE owner of the Clippers. And yes, he’s a big contributor to the GOP and tea party.
Also, Sterling wasn’t stripped of his ownership because of a fan boycott. Sterling was stripped of his ownership after his OWN TEAM threatened to boycott and other players in the league protested his public display of racism. Shortly after that his advertisers started bailing. Then the commissioner banned him from the league. It wasn’t a fan boycott.
Giants fans might boycott if they trade Bumgarner, probably not for this though.

I have to agree with Mark here. We the fans didn't ask Mr. Johnson to buy our team, couldn't have done anything to stop it and that Peter Magowan lead coalition kept the Giants here in the Bay.

As a Giants fan it's hard to say anything against the idea because people will say, "Oh you're just a Giants fan, you'll forgive anything they do."
Be that as it may, my feeling is that if we start boycotting everything that has racism involved with it at some level, then we'll have to start boycotting everything.
And Knotesau is just pissed because the Giants stole the Dodgers highly regarded GM Farhan Zaidi and made him their President of Baseball Operations.
Zaidi is a Muslim of Pakistani decent, born in Canada and raised in the Philippines.
I wonder what Charles Johnson thought of that hire?
