Many White people are uncomfortable voting for black candidates?

They're called two-faced.

Yea, because Bernie Sanders is an expert on race relations, being from the whitest state in the country and all.

Which states can one be from and have an opinion on race relations? Please provide a list.

thom is hate.

Bernie marched in Selma with Martin Luther King.  Yeah, what does he know?

you mean he risked getting his head bashed in by racist mobs while most young white people were too busy listening to the beatles?

I did both.

I translated it as "lots of racists out there"...which is quite obviously correct, particularly in the heart of the former Confederacy and in the rural plains and mountains.

I suspect there are a lot of racists everywhere, including Vermont, West Virginia and Delaware.

"Yea, because Bernie Sanders is an expert on race relations, being from the whitest state in the country and all."

Well, technically being from a mostly white state would technically make him an expert on what white people are willing to do politically, right?

LA Mayor Tom Bradley knew a thing or two about this.

Lots of white people voted for Obama.   That being said, having a black guy in the White House did bring out some real nasty people from under their rocks.

There are still a lot old school racists down South in Florida and Georgia, but you are going to find all types of terrible racists in every neck of the woods in this country.   The worst race riots in this country weren't in the South but were instead in New York City in 1863 when Lincoln announced conscription and the draft resisters took it out on the local black folks:

Oregon, which was technically a "free state" in the Civil War, put an outright ban on black people living there into its state constitution.

But on a more cheerful note, Florida just passed a ballot measure to reinstate voting rights to felons who have served their time.   Considering that black people make up a disproportionate segment of felons, adding those folks to the voter rolls should tip the balance going forward in that heavily divided state.

As for Bernie, yes his heart was in the right place and was a champion of civil rights, but he just couldn't connect with black folks the way the Clintons did.

Poor Thom.

Once again punching himself in the dick before noon.

We all know them.
