Here is an article from the New York Times on the sudden rise of gun ownership by left wingers:

I left the NRA a number of years ago because they were just stoking fear of black people to drive up gun sales and generally promoting a broader right wing agenda that had little to do with firearm safety and history, so I was interested in seeing what other shooting sports organizations are out there that might be more friendly to environmentalists and left of center types. I checked out the Socialist Rifle Association (SRA) referenced in the article, but they seemed more like the SLA or other extreme left wing militant organization:

Also, found Redneck Revolt, which patterns itself around the militant rural labor organizations like those who participated in Battle of Blair Mountain in 1921. They are a little more my style:
