October 18, 1978

Thanks for posting Roar, I'm enjoying it, 40 years after it was performed.

This Sunday the 21st will be the 40th anniversary of my first Grateful Dead show, just a few days after this one. Time sure does have a way of passing.

I'm forever grateful to my friends for dragging me to see that show. What an effect that night had on me, and continues to have, 40 years later.

Far out.

BTW, The Grateful Dead Movie is playing at the Balboa Theater in SF this Thursday & Friday the 18th & 19th. That movie was filmed 44 years ago on those same dates and is more about what a run at Winterland was like than it is just a concert movie.

I'm going to try to get up there on Friday. It sure sounds like a good way to celebrate my anniversary.

LONG LIVE THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!!!

Saw all five of this run, just a wonderful time all around. And I still have the "Home at Winterland" t-shirt that was unique to that run. So what happened to the buttons for posting pictures etc.?

They're back!!!

Mine has the Blues for Allah artwork on the front (which actually seems appropriate), I wanted a Skull and Roses one but they were sold out by the time I got around to buying one.

Remember the pictures from Egypt being projected behind the stage.

10/21/78 was my first show, too. 40 years ago today!  Hi, Lance.

"Remember the pictures from Egypt being projected behind the stage."

And Donna wore a different dress that she had purchased over there every night.

11 18 1978 is XM right now.

Sounds very good.

Second set starts off with Olin into wharf rat, sugar mag...
