We ve been bamboozled w sheninagins, but we were able to play a mulligan or 2, so minus a few curveballs thrown .....you prob havent missed much at all....;)
My summer is going well...no complaints at all. I'm stunned that summer is almost over...but I can say I'm ready to get rid of the heat and humidity. It's been terrible hair weather...hahaha!
Been hot, dry, and most folks avoided damage from the fires in California. Has a few Zoners quite concerned for a while. There's a new travelogue thread that's nice.
Some folks are so bored they're searching the archives and bumping year-old useless threads thinking it's a nice idea to see people bicker some more.
So, not much new. Some folks having trouble adjusting to a gentler Zone with less traffic.
Hope your summer's been good. I just got back from the Targhee Bluegrass fest in Wyoming. Nice fest, beautiful drive with a hot soak thrown in.
here00 - she is doing FABULOUS! Over three years clean from opiates. I have my daughter back again! She went to Red Rocks with my friends and I last week for JRAD. She fell in love with Colorado. Next month I am taking her out to CA for a week so she can see where she was born. We are starting in Santa Cruz then working our way up to Oregon then back down to Napa, and ending in Fairfield where she was born. Thanks for asking about her!
slickrock sounds like an amazing adventure you had there! Wyoming is SO beautiful! I love that entire area of the country. I absolultey love living 10 miles from the ocean, but I have to say I am most comfortable in the mountains away from the bazillions of people I am around where I live now.
Thanks for all of the positive words everyone! All I can say at this point is life is amazingly good!Very cool pics slickrock! I I went to Boise for panic a couple of years back. The drive from Montana was just stunning. I truly love that entire region of the country. So much natural beauty!
Here's a couple from our Colorado trip last week. El Dorado Canyon and Pike Peak. I can never ever drive up a mountain like that again. My daughter had a full blown panic attack when we were driving up. We go to about 13,500 feet, just shy of the 14,110 summit. I was white knuckling the wheel, she was freaking...I had to turn around and let my friend drive down. It' was absolutely stunning up there, but no guard rails and the no margin for error rattles you. At least it did me.
Fantastic news about your daughter, Cat! Welcome back and have a great road trip... this foggy August (Faugust) weather we're experiencing here in Santa Cruz should be done by then and Indian summer will hopefully be in full effect (best time of year here).
Real good news about you and your daughter's journey, CAT!
I recall my Dad driving me up Pike's Peak when I was a teen, and thinking it was a little hazardous. Glad you made it back in one piece. Makes for a good bonding experience. I'll remind my pop about this at his 91st birthday party next month.

A motorcycle race up Pikes Peak? Are you kidding me? That is INSANE! I'd be better off hiking a mountain than driving up it.
