Traditional infra-red & satellite imagery from official sources are almost always filtered in order to mask the blatantly visible atmospheric spraying operations.... Official source images will never show the massive extent of the trails of dispersants.  You must have an Enhanced Infra-red image to see clearly.

Not surprisingly, You said not ONE thing addressing the filter used in the traditional infrared image.  The 'enhanced' image on the right is specifically designed to see through the filtration of the officially sourced grayscale image you'd see on the weather channel.  It is a standard infrared satellite image, enhanced to bypass the filter. Thus it IS indeed an 'enhanced' infrared image--- just not what your Preconceived boxed-in notion of NOAA Enhanced Colorful infrared would look like.
