The Yankees

Forums:

....suck.

It was fun watching them get swept while listening to Phish all wknd.

Now theyre in a dogfight for a playoff spot. Sonny Gray was up in bullpen as Chapman imploded. How did Boone pitch to Benintendi w Bradley on deck, AND what about Arod calling out yanks rookie 3b for being totally out of position (playing in for bunt) w Benintendi up....and Boone, a retired 3b, is in third base dugout thirty feet away????? Nice job all around, Yanks.

Aaron Boone is a bit of creepy guy. Comes across like a Scientologist who really enjoys leading wayward teens on weekend camping trips. Girardi is probably having a good laugh.

For the Sox, it's going to come down to Price in the playoffs. They're going to need 2-3 quality starts from the Fortnight master. I'm not optimistic but we'll see what happens.

Im thinking rotation will be Sale, Porcello, Erod, (who was pitching like a #2 before injury, and on way back very soon), Eovaldi...w Price in bullpen, and Pomerantz in Bahamas.  Nice mix of lefty-righty, and Price did ok in pen last year....it should be fun, thats all i know...so much talent atop A.L.

I’ve got a good friend who is “dating” a guy high up on the food chain at Fenway. She sends me pics all the time from John Henry’s seats. She said the place was rocking all weekend. I got a nice tour of Fenway earlier this year, got on the field and in the dugout pre-game. Didn’t have any actual seats for this game but we could go pretty much anywhere and we ended up at a cool rooftop bar for a while.

Ill try to post some pics later.

It was a great time the only shitty part was the Red Sox fans. A lot of guys wearing pink hats, many of whom were wasted prior to the 1pm start, which isn’t the prettiest sight. I noticed it was tough on the women who were taking a lot of unwanted comments. Cool park though!

Just looked it up the Yankees can’t “suck” that much, they have the second best record in baseball. Maybe you should gloat more about the historic pace your club is on rather than incorrectly smearing a team that is also doing well.

Go Brewers!

Lol, buck..its just in the spirit of the rivalry...blv me, Sox fans would be stupid not to realize how strong the Yanks are this year...

Sounds cool about tour etc....last few times ive been there, including cpl weeks ago, i sat in the alcohol free "family" seating down the right field line...as long as you get seats in the lower third of that section, they are phenomenol seats....w no pink hatted A-holes, or shitfaced fans....i would recommend that, or on other end, those roof top bars, in any park in country...

P.s .     Go brewers!

Lol, buck..its just in the spirit of the rivalry

Except for morons on both side, I agree. Whenever the two play each other, all I wish for is a tight extra innings game with a final walk-off homer, and there have been a lot of those moments between the two. Recently I've had to bring my A game to the rivalry. Something about being friends with a certain leader of a Boston based Irish punk band brings that out of me. lol

Ha!^ , and we all gonna need that A game for years now Ski, as they both loaded w sooo many talented kids

>>>For the Sox, it's going to come down to Price in the playoffs.

Yes that is true.  Very unsettling indeed for us Sox fans.

I was there, in person, for Chapman's initial meltdown against the Mets. It turned what should have been a boring 9th into an exciting inning. Giving up 2 runs on walks will do that in a game with a 3 run lead!

F5A9C1E1-1E03-4705-BEDD-69CDAABA258C.jpegGood point Jambone come to think of it I told a few of my Cubs fan friends that they sucked the year they won it all. :) I just wish my team sucked as bad as the Yankees.

Heres a pic from last night

Last time yanks blew a three run lead going into the 9th???? 2016....vs boston...w another chapman meltdown...;)

Ha Chapman they should make him the setup man and use one of their other three other closers instead.

I was hoping for a few 105 MPH fastballs, but got 18 balls in a row!

It will be fun watching what happens to them if they lose the Wild Card play-off game at Yankee Stadium.

What do you think might happen, you think the Yankees fans might storm the field or something?

They have players.

The Sox have players, coaches, and a great front office.

Go Red Sox

Love this Redsox team. They are super fun to watch, but fully agree that they are not built for the playoffs. That said if ever a hitting team can take it all this would be the team

>>>>They have players.

That’s a pretty luke-warm endorsement there. They have players and coaches?

So you’re saying it’s the great front office that has them 50 games over .500? Because anyone who is a baseball fan can come on here and correctly state that they have players and coaches. COME ON LARRY WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY

Will they make the playoffs?

Ok.

So it is more clear to you.

The Yankees and Sox both are stacked with great players. Of those two teams, the Red Sox have a great coach and a great front office, something the Yankees lack.

I hope this clears it up for you.

>>great front office.

ehhhhhh.  Dave Dombrowski hasn't won anything in 20 years.

Thanks Larry!

Let me ask this just so I’m clear. Being that Alex Cora and Aaron Boone, both ex-players in their early 40’s who went from playing to the ESPN booth who are now both in their first year of coaching, what is that makes Alex Cora great and Aaron Boone not great?

It seems to me that it would be difficult to decipher at this point of their careers. Especially since one team has the best record and the other team has the second best record in the league.

Could you clear that up for me too, thanks!

Any opinion on Brewers manager, Craig Counsell while you are here? TY

>> Im thinking rotation will be Sale, Porcello, Erod, (who was pitching like a #2 before injury, and on way back very soon), Eovaldi...w Price in bullpen, and Pomerantz in Bahamas.

I'm thinking that Eovaldi will probably take over the #2 spot, followed by Porcello

>> Something about being friends with a certain leader of a Boston based Irish punk band brings that out of me.

And yet another name drop by Mr. Saddler...  Nobody gives a shit dude...

Cpl things...

Sox ARE built for playoffs....they hit, they hit fir power, they run well amd smart on bases, and lead mlb...yes..mlb in steals...they are an above average defensive team, that is a great defensive team if vasquez, and either pedrioa or now kinslar is at second....they have a top of line rotation--one of best in baseball, that dombrowski just stole and added eovaldi on to, with a great closer in an ok bullpen....the bullpen may be weakness, but gets much needd help come playoffs as one if not two starters willl be there....

Drew Pomerantz won 17 games for them last year, and may not be on playoff roster--thats how good their staff is....

Now, could they get beat by houston, ny, or even seattle or oakland in a short series??? You betcha....but, dont say their not built for playoffs.....cause thats exactly what theyre built for...its in those games that their speed and defense will win a game othrr teams would normally lose.

Oh, and aaron freakin boone???

Tell me why he pitched to one of hottest hittest in baseball in benintendi instead of the .216 jackie bradley, or why he didnt fix third basemens obvious wrong positioning durin same at bat?

Too early to tell on both he and Cora, but, so far, most all would agree Cora has been playing all the right strings etc

Eovaldi - What a slap in the face!

Who's that?

my guess is candyfrog's son.

I think that’s Bassnectar Bob he’s a big Yankees fan if I remember correctly
