Phil coming to SoCal!

Friends and not Family?

Phil should play with Particle Kid again I liked him

Elevator jam.

That was it elevator jam

Particle Kid = Micah Nelson

You guys are talking about Steve Molitz from the band Particle.

Sweet line up.   Saw Margo and her band earlier this year at Revolution Hall.  The voice of Dolly Parton with all the piss and vinegar of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash.

On my birthday too, wish it wasn't a thousand mile drive!   Long live the Lesh!

particle dude

Thanks for posting this Zooey.  This may be doable.  I haven't been back to L.A. since I drove a semi-truck out of there with all my records and stuff and my car on a trailer behind it back in 2005 as I moved to the PNW.  Dylan's "Cold Irons Bound" was playing on my stereo as I was pulling up the Grapevine and the lights of L.A. disappeared in my rear-view mirror.

I caught Margo Price and her band at NOLA Jazzfest 2017, and dug them.  I think she's got more Tammy Wynette in her than Dolly.   Her band seems very influenced by the Rolling Stones Country-Honk era circa Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main St.  I am friends with her keyboard/accordion player and Musical Director, who is a Seattle native.

I'm more interested in seeing Particle Kid than Particle Dude.  I enjoyed Micah Nelson's tune more than his brother Lukas' when they streamed the Neil Young and POTR shows from the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara last month.

I'm thinking there's a 50/50 chance Neil Young will drop in on this show.

LOOKS Awesome ! Please Phil Lesh AND Friends !! NOT TFB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just Checked Tickets ARE Pricey !

The nokia....particle dude....floor in front of stage was insane....ya, know, like the good insane...

Phil - Make Another Date at The Arlington Santa Barbara While You Are Down Here.

Dude I have Margo Price's LP. She is great but she DOES NOT have the voice of Dolly Parton! Come on!

huh? we get a phil n willie?

that's pretty sweet

That day is the 40th anniversary of my first Grateful Dead show, and the Hollywood Bowl is on my venue bucket list so I'm drawn to be there, but a Sunday that time of year would make it really tough. I'd have to drive back to the BA after the show, so probably a no-go for me.

What's the over/under for posts on this thread, especially after Phil announces who will be in his band and everyone is pissed?

>>>>I'm thinking there's a 50/50 chance Neil Young will drop in on this show.

That would blow the roof of the sucka.   Neil is appearing with much of that line up in September at the SPAC.

That’s it Steve Molitz. That should be cool Phil hasn’t played with him in a long time.

Here's the setlist.

Uncle Johns
Playin
Ramble On Rose
Throwin' Stones
Peggy O
Brown Eyed
Broken Arrow
Cassidy
St Stephen, Mountains of the Moon, Tomorrow Never Nows

Almost Cut My Hair, Ripple

What's the presale code? Anyone?

PW = Hollywood

Steve Molitz is not Particle Kid, he's Particle Dude, and we're the only ones who called him that.

An inspired nickname IMO.

I really liked Particle Dude with Phil. He brought needed weirdness to that otherwise very rock 'n roll-centric band with Larry Campbell & Jackie Greene.

And he didn't over-play, which has long been an issue with me & many keyboard players in GD bands.

And I see that I am already set to be at the 49ers/Rams game at Vanilla Stadium in Santa Clara that evening, so no Willie & Phil for me.

But the rest of you...

Go to the show!

Oh, and...

GO NINERS!!!!!!

That password isn't working at the ticketmaster pre-sale site.  Is there some other pre-sale?  Does anyone have a link to the sale?

Hollywood works for the Blackbird/Artist Presale on TM.

Those presale tickets may be gone now, though.

Another vote for Particle Dude with Phil.

So, what you're saying is Particle Kid stole "our" nickname?

And thank you, Zooey! Worked for me.

Hope Larry Garcia Jr. is a friend...

I nominate Holly Bowling as Particle Chick

Piss

every link is broken including the email announcement

even when I try the other dates same error message so I don't even know how much tickets are

401 me to death.  Who is this Zooey person?

wow thanks g-train. i walked to the beach for a swim...78 water>?!

then saw pre-sale and freaked.

went home.

now i have a $872 bill...

gotta box.

had trouble initially also but then it worked.

i hope barry larcia is there

Particle Kid or Particle Dude, whatever you want to call him, it’s cool that Particle are playing again.

i have to go back to work tomorrow.

Thanks Zooey.  I got the site to work.  I'm going to hold off for now.  Service fees are ridiculous, so I think I will wait and see.  If I can get down there at that time is tricky, but I'm pretty sure I can get one for face if I can make it.

I chose to bite it because the cheap to mid range seats kinda suck. Place is big.

Way to go big, T.

Right on Turtle.

It may hurt now, but when you're enjoying the show from your box you won't regret spending more, especially for a show like that.

Can you bring wine and cheese to The Hollywood Bowl?

Sturgill Simpson is right on in my book. Definitely check him out. Saw him for the first time this summer, would go again.

no there is no wine, beer or cheese at the official drug shows there.

Slacker, you want to split a box for the Phil and Family Friends Outlaw Drug Music Show?

What's wrong with wine & cheese?

No. I'm saving my fall show money for Butthole Surfers.

drug show patrons are not jazz patrons in the eyes of the management.

I hope they bring this up North to the Greek.

as suspected, did not work on my cell, but worked on computer- went medium - Turtle gonna stub me down (lol)

Oh, man. I wanna go to that one.

The last time I saw Phil, Particle Dude was in the band with Larry G. and Shecky Gr.

Money for the Buttholes? Who's in the band?

I'm thinking I'm going to come to LA for this one. I haven't been to the Hollywood Bowl in years. Sounds like a fun one. October is a nice time of year there too.

I REALLY Want To Go ! I'll Wait For The Regular Tickets Sale Date........ In Fact I MUST Go !!

^ You really should go plf

It's a big deal; if you have an ADA bullet in our holster use it, for better HC parking & a seat by the stage~

Check that out

Turtle, are you saying that the Hollywood Bowl doesn't sell alcohol at some of their events?

If so I find that a little hard to believe (booze = $$$$$$$$) and besides, this is a country show not a drug show, one that is being sponsored by Southern Comfort.

No beer/liquor at a country show?

Riots in the streets of LA!!!!

I looked up the rules. You can bring food and alcohol to the Philharmonic.

You can't bring anything to a rock show like Phil.

Taking bids for the chance to sit in my box.

They will have $15 tall boy dos Equis Lance.

...they do have others if you poke around...

PS. No smoking.

What about WITH the London Philharmonic?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5u6ob1GRfU

You can bring food to all events at the Hollywood Bowl.

For LA Philharmonic events, you can bring in wine and beer and glass.

For leased events like this one, you cannot bring in alcohol or glass but you certainly can buy alcohol there. You may bring in factory sealed plastic bottles with non-alcoholic beverages, one liter in size or less.

Not sure but it would be cool to see these guys all jam on it and the Zone box sounds like a fun time how many people can you fit in the ones there?
