Scored a Free Canopy For the Truck... Yay !!

Forums:

Sorta fits OK;  little wide at the back.

But it was FREE on criaiglist,  and is a genuine "Jeraco" with all the glass and screen intact.

A short drive to suburbia to pick up the thang.  Then I pressure-washed it to eradicate the lichens and dirt.

You might find it on their website.  But I'll try to snap a foto.

Film at eleven ??

Almost liek this one, but different.

Cool Score but is that not a " Shell " ? always thought of Canopys as Made Of Cloth / Material

Could be called a "cap"  or other words.

The Jeraco link above has their official jargon.

I will attempt to post photos of the item.

No idea how ancient the thang is.  Maybe I'll send fotos to Jeraco when I try to get a key for the lock.

Will you make your dog ride in the back now?

Had no idea if the darn thing would fit,  but it's close enough.  Probably built for a Ford or Dodge 8-ft. bed.

Anyway,  the price was right and if nothing else,  it can be removed and utilized as Dog shelter.

i'd Say It's Camping Qualified enough.

Heck yeah.  I can throw the air mattress back there and even a fridge,  and go to Peach Fest.  Or some other place.

All the weird glass panels in the roof make it look like 'Yellow Submarine'  but hey,  the price was right.

No Mr. Esau,  Hüsky still has Shotgun seat.  Unless You mail me more Huskies ??

That's what the poor Bastard looked like before it got all cleaned up.

Nice Stu, nice find. I thought my karma brought me a freebie, with a carpet kit even, but I got skunked. Had an appointment to see the guy but his wife made one a half-hour earlier.

Now it looks like the people they gave it to are selling it for $800.

Picked up an 8 ft Ford F-150 single cab and it's not the most popular model. Not a lot out there. Been looking for a few weeks but still hopeful.

Good luck w/ your canopy search,  Mr. Slick.

About 7 times out of ten the Criaglist stuff doesn't quite pan out,  but sometimes it just falls into place.

I need to get a set of slightly wider clamps for this thing.

The old clamps I had don't have enough grip for 'over 50' Hwy speeds.

Looks great, Stu. Hope it works out well.

A score worth taking bout for sure!

I Like All The Windows Stu = Cool Score yes

I would've taken it anyway,  but the awesome thing was:  all glass intact,  sliders work,  the 'gas-shocks'  for rear upper glass gate still hold pressure.

So except for expected cosmetic blemishes,  it's in great shape.

Been meaning to build a nice wooden box for it, with quick-remove Roof.  But the canopy actually looks OK on the rig --  colors almost match.

Take Out The Seperation Glass So It Is Crawl Thru. yes

Mfr. is out in PA in the town of Milton.  I'm going to get in touch to see if they can hook me up w/ a key for the rear window lock.  Maybe they can tell me which yr. and model I've got.  From their site I'm sure this one is the 'Hi-Rise' series which they boast is tall enough for a washer & dryer.

Disco Stu's mobile laundromat?

Shell Key.jpg

The key will be easy. There's probably a number on it. If not, easy to replace.

Disco Stu's wood-fired mobile laundromat?

Fixed that for you.

Spoke with the factory people this morning.  Turns out the item was made in 1997,  and is built for a 1973 - 1976 Ford.

However,  they can send me a set of keys for 3 bucks + shipping laugh

Thanks, Tony, that's exactly it.

Nice cap, Stu. The raised caps are much more versatile, IMO. Nice truck too. I recently leased a 2017 Ram 1500 last year and it was a great pick up. They handled much better than the fords in my opinion and will still get over 300k when you’re all said and done. Have fun with your adventures.
