Today In California i Paid a 154 Dollars for 1 Year In California DMV - dmv spokesperson said it will increase next year and next year........etc wtf ?

Just registered my new-to-me
Just registered my new-to-me 2011 Ford F-150 in Utah for about $160.
Had to pay 7.25% sales tax also on sales price I filled in on the title. So about $657 to get plates.
Quick service at the DMV was nice. Was there maybe 5 minutes the other day to get the plates after a $35 emissions test. No more safety inspections in Utah.
