These reporters are pussies. There is no legislation that calls for separating children from parents. Not one law on the books calls for that. Why aren’t they calling her out on that?
Where's all the outrage for American kids who are behind bars?
We know that the United States leads the industrialized world in the number and percentage of children it locks up in juvenile detention facilities, with over 60,000 children in such facilities in 2011, according to data compiled by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, which works on juvenile justice and other children’s rights issues. The US also sends an extraordinary number of children to adult jails and prisons—more than 95,000 in 2011, Human Rights Watch and the American Civil Liberties Union estimated—with few opportunities for meaningful education or rehabilitation
You really don’t understand the difference between families coming to America to avoid persecution and death and having their families ripped apart and the children thrown in cages, and children who commit crimes and are subject to due process before they are incarcerated?
the Nazis have only been in power for 2 years, give them time. Trump apologists are the absolute scum of the earth. Very fine people don't support Fascists.

I do, and it's a horrific situation.
People have been coming to this country to avoid persecution, famine and even death for hundreds of years. There have been laws and guidelines in place for hundreds of years also.
I'm all for keeping the families together. How can it be done?
What was done in the past, I believe, was everyone was put back on a bus or flight together and sent home only to try again and again. Is this the answer?
Is America capable of taking on everyone in the world who is dissatisfied with their current home?

More humane yes. Cheaper?
The issue becomes illegals realize the worst thing that can happen is they get to travel on a airplane. Airplanes are nice. Why not go on multiple flights?
So no. I don't agree it's cheaper especially when you're talking about frequent fliers.

There's a difference but I'm not too sure how the honor system would work out at Motel 6

You do realize this was exactly what the Nazi's said as they slowly turned up the heat. It was always one more law or inconvenience and then it would all go back to normal once the problem was fixed by strong leadership. The Nazi's never ran on a platform of killing 6 million people in death camps. They ran on a platform of putting Germany first, rounding up undesirables, strengthening the economy, and foreign policy that could be described as We're Germany Bitches.
>>>>>So no. I don't agree it's cheaper especially when you're talking about frequent fliers.
Well, you’d be wrong. Do you think DHS works for free? It costs a minimum of $20 a day per person to put them in camps where they’re staying for months at a time. A ticket to Honduras is way cheaper.

At least now Republicans are embracing their role as the party of racism and bigotry.
A majority of Republicans support the Trump administration's policy of separating migrant children from their parents when they are caught illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, a Quinnipiac University poll found.

They are the only listed party, gender, education, age or racial group to support the policy, according to Quinnipiac

>Attorney General Jeff Sessions dismissed comparisons of the detention facilities for migrant children to Nazi concentration camps by arguing that Nazis "were keeping the Jews from leaving the country."

Sessions later said if parents are deported, their children return to their home country with them. If the parents claim asylum and stay in the US, Sessions said, their children also stay but in Department of Health and Human Services' custody.
Look, when you have to explain how your concentration camps differ from Nazi concentration camps, maybe that’s a sign that it’s time to rethink your whole concentration camp idea.
>>>Sessions tried to explain during an interview Monday night with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
The fact that he seems to feel comfortable openly discussing this with Fox News speaks volumes about the network. As this situation escalates, they're becoming more & more of a propaganda tool for this administration. Not that I felt much differently about them before.
I can not imagine a brain so diseased it could support putting kids in cages and separating families that are seeking asylum. Let alone the sick pieces of shit doing the work and the sicker people that profit of all of this. Please pray for these sick humans among us and hope they all come to their sense and knock this crap off.

Persons are placed in such camps often on the basis of identification with a particular ethnic or political group rather than as individuals and without benefit either of indictment or fair trial..."
>> Some parents have already been deported while their kids remain in custody in the US.
the Trump Regime is separating families at the border, locking up the parents or deporting them. and then re-classifying their children as "unaccompanied minors" so they can justify locking the children in cages.
Trump just announced that he is appointing Roy Moore to over see the detention of the children to make sure nothing bad happens to them while they're in the cages.
No one is being killed. We're not trying to eradicate anyone else's culture, identity, or religion.
I agree that we're handing criminals in an inhumane fashion and it's shameful. But it's too easy for people who disagree with you to dismiss your ideas wholesale, if you lead with genocide.
Nielsen knows Trump won’t sign, she will likely resign and is trying to save face and her career. after carrying out Trump’s orders and defending his inhumane and immoral policy, she’s toast.
What does one do with an infestation? Negotiate? There is only one thing you do with an infestation. That word wasn't used by chance. It's the first step in dehumanizing people in order to make it easier to kill them.
>> Those little kids whose parents asked for asylum are criminals?
No, they are victims. It's not anything new for us to split up families based on the actions of the parents. We have a whole generation of families destroyed by stupid drug laws.
I'm all for keeping families together!
(And Mannfred, this is a pivot on immigration for you. I remember when we were discussing Syrian refugees and Turkey. You self-identified as a conservative that didn't think countries had a responsibility to take in refugees.)
>> Asking for asylum at a port of entry is a criminal act?
Apparently:
“This administration has been painting asylum-seekers and really all immigrants as criminals,” Olga Byrne, one of the report’s authors, told HuffPost. “And by referring people for prosecution ― including people who previously had no contact with the criminal justice system ― the administration is essentially creating the kinds of statistics they want to put out to the public, that immigrants are criminals.”
And once all the stories by these morally superior people that turned a blind eye when it was going on under other administrations come tumbling down...........
..........the golden age will be followed by violence. Buckle up kiddies, rough roads ahead. 2019 is a coming.
And comparing these events to past governments and systems like nazism is just lame and over the top insulting to those who suffered.
>And once all the stories by these morally superior people that turned a blind eye when it was going on under other administrations come tumbling down.........
Please hold your breath and wait. You'll pass out from shear ignorance. Turning families away from our borders is a far cry from what is happening now.
I don’t think that Trump is going to start killing immigrants, but he has no problem laying the ground work for that to happen, and even though it’s not state sanctioned at this point Trump had no problem turning up the heat in Charlottesville, and didn’t seem at all upset that a person got run over and killed.
Everyone should be reading Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil, because if you don’t think it can happen here you are wrong. It’s happened in Germany, Cambodia, Rwanda, China, and Russia. There is nothing unique about America that will prevent it from ever happening here.

The guy who heads the Office of Refugee Resettlement is a big time conservative Christian. That office has historically not been a political one. Remember when there was that fight over the refugee teen who he tried to keep from getting an abortion? So, this does not surprise me. Sickens me, but not surprise. His name is Scott Lloyd if you feel like looking it up. The entirety of his qualifications for leading the Office of Refugee Resettlement is his career as an anti-abortion activist.
We have a good friend who was hired during the Obama Admin and works overseas for Refugee Settlement. She’s a kind young woman who already adopted a couple dozen refugee children so they could become American citizens. This has got to be killing her and the other good people in the department.
Meh, there are some good Christians ( ex Jimmy Carter) , and then there are fake ones.
my friend who adopted orphaned Kenyan teenage refugees is also Christian, and I know some kick ass Church ladies, Ministers and Nuns who are social justice warriors and follow Christ’s teachings.
At a hearing before a judge, as one of my colleagues asked the immigration agent on the stand about the whereabouts of my client's child. The federal prosecutor objected to the relevance of the questions. The judge turned on the prosecutor, demanding to know why this wasn't relevant."
"At one point the judge slammed his hand on the desk, sending a pen flying. This type of emotional display is unheard of in federal court."
"I can't understand this," the judge said. "If someone at the jail takes your wallet, they give you a receipt. They take your kids, and you get nothing? Not even a slip of paper?"
DNA kits will help. Of course the children will still need to be located and offered the kits. Getting the DNA kits to the parents will be an easier task.

Komen for the Cure the breast cancer research charity, by pulling breast cancer screening funding from Planned Parenthood. But the good people of Georgia elected her to Congress after she got fired from that job. Nice to see she hasn’t lost any of her concern for the children, or maybe she is just following orders.

The U.S. Navy plans to house tens of thousands of immigrants on remote military bases in cities across three states — including one in the Bay Area, according to a copy of a draft memo obtained by Time.
The proposal, under consideration for approval by the Secretary of the Navy, shows the Navy is preparing plans to construct detention camps in California, Alabama and Arizona to house the massive wave of people caught illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Time.
The memo, which outlines plans to construct “temporary and austere” tent cities at abandoned airfields, includes plans for a camp housing up to 47,000 immigrants at the former Naval Weapons Station in Concord.
The news sent Contra Costa County officials — all of whom said they hadn’t been told of the plan — into a frenzy Friday afternoon, as they tried to track down details on the thousands of immigrants who could potentially be housed in their city...

Ahh yes that would be the same Karen Handel that just about destroyed Susan G. Komen for the Cure the breast cancer research charity, by pulling breast cancer screening funding from Planned Parenthood. But the good people of Georgia elected her to Congress after she got fired from that job. Nice to see she hasn’t lost any of her concern for the children, or maybe she is just following orders.
