Hands down, the best I’ve heard this band yet....

Saturday Night in NYC.

They tend to do well in NYC,  as they darn well better,  whoever 'they' are/were/will be.

Smoking B Song

ro-j, nice to see you around here recently.

The songs were back to normal tempos too, a drummers delight!

Hi Judit!  :)

Yup, that birdsong was magical!

The Darkstar cometh.

Agreed on the tempos too...really sounded great.

Set 2

Help on the way >

Slipknot

That was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.

Set 2

Help on the way >

Slipknot >

Franklins Tower

St. Stephen  (this was heavily rehearsed at sound check)

I’ve heard Mickey say that every rehearsal is like a show they were busy today

Love Oteils playing during this space / drums

They sound good.

And they sound pretty much what they always sound like when I have listened or seen them.

They're good.

I just had to make a trip down to Denver and back. Listened to St Stephen through the end. I thought that was great. Great jams for a drive.

encore; One more Sat. night

This was the most I had listened to a show this summer. Certainly they are better than last go around, still not really my thing but I can certainly see why people like it. Kinda sounds like Mayer has been listening to Phish, some of their jams had that kind of thing that Trey does but getting quicker to the point..... still less psychedelic but certainly with more authority

Tonights stream, music starts around the 46 minute mark

Thanks for the quick post of the replay link. Nice stuff

That 2nd set looks mighty tasty.

There will be an encore airing of the show @ 12 noon ET.

Today on SiriusXm Grateful Dead Channel.

It was a beautiful day and night!

People are saying that last nights St Stephen > 11 is pretty much the best one the Grateful Dead has ever played. Wow.

Listening now.

Gorgeous Saturday night in NY.

Nice pic Trailhead!

People say a lot of crazy things.

^^^^^^

replay of last night set II (Saturday) is running on mixlr.com now.

That made me curious so I watched it here https://youtu.be/2VPMND0XElM

It stars at 3:19:48, seems ok at first but a complete train wreck by 3:21:39, they stop the song!!  Bob tells Mayer to resume pretty much where they left off and it’s on again.  After that it’s ok, tempo is good and some interesting jamming but heavy on the superfluous guitar school licks.   I liked the 11, bob did a great job with the lyrics.  Again too much flashy guitar that I didn’t care for shortly before drums starting around 3:50:45. So my take on that Stephen > 11 is that it was good, had moments, and maybe the best one Dead Co has done.

Comparing to any Grateful Dead version is crazy.

One things for certain, there must be some crazy good drugs on this tour.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Listened to set I (of 6/16)  last night & set II tonight. Very good music for DeadCo. Some shows of theirs have been lackluster,  but that one & first night (6/15)  NYC sounded OK.

It's nice to see that it wasn't too overcrowded and that plenty of cheap tickets were available.

Certainly would have been fun to attend, but so was watching the Yard-Toads hop around eating bugs.

5-6 hrs. travel time for me to get to citiField in Flushing.

Great weekend in Queens. Citifield is a real nice place especially if you enjoy spending money.

Food and beer choices are limitless

We went in early and watched from above as thousands of folks were being merged into single file to enter and the band had come on stage.  We knew from last year that it would be a complete clusterfuck for those heading in last minute and sure enough it was real bad.  That would be my one complaint.  They have to either use more gates or speed up the entry process.  Looking down on these thousands of folks I thought there was going to be a riot.

Highperbole?

"People are saying that last nights St Stephen > 11 is pretty much the best one the Grateful Dead has ever played."

"People" need to listen to more 1968 Grateful Dead.

It was another great time @ Citi Field.  Friday, we had bought the $20 all in rafter seats.  We went in early, took the elevators to the 500 section.  There was an employee up there with literally hundreds of upgrade tickets.  We were given club seats in sec 119 with a private bar and a bathroom directly under the section.  We had some much space it was crazy.

Saturday we got in for the 2 for 1 deal and were on the floor.  Two solid shows.

^^^ That's pretty damn cool.

I've listened to both shows, dug both of them.

Listening to all tour shows on ETREE app. Usually recordings are on the app 1 day after the shows. Both Citi field shows are up on ETREE already...

XM was broadcasting this show while I was out in the Hamptons, driving..

I was pretty disappointed with what I knew was out-of context.

Great first set on paper & I'm sure it was great live too.

Nice photograph Trailhead.

>>>>>5-6 hrs. travel time for me to get to citiField in Flushing.

Wow, I thought you were much closer.

You are hereby excused from all NYC area shows,

no excuse or explanation necessary,

It's much more exciting to know when you are actually going,

and all the machinations involved.

Thank you,

A Fan.

P.S. keep H.I.M. cool in the pool

>>>>People are saying that last nights St Stephen > 11 is pretty much the best

Word from my bud was he lost interest during the well rehearsed St Stephen.

However, he may have peaked too soon indecision

I’ve hear that this show or Atlanta was their best show ever

That was pretty funny.  Bob fucks up the lyrics and Mayer is to afraid to lead the band through what could have been a stumble, and he just stops and looks at Bobby.

After a ratdog show one night this drunk as fuck chick came over and exclaimed that Bos Star sang the best El Fuckin Paso she had ever heard!!!!  Ever.

The closest to El Paso that night was big river

((( Spitter Girl )))

I hear Wisconsin women are all gnarly looking

Yours truly,

FIB
