"Due to unexpected health issues, unfortunately Ralph Schuckett will be unable to tour with Utopia this spring.
While discussing a replacement keyboardist, it occurred to us that there may be someone out there who already knows the music and vocal parts and would like an opportunity to tour with us. So if you think you could fill those big shoes, we invite you to submit an audio and/or video sample to us.
We are on a very fast track, so the decision will be made this week. Band rehearsals begin in 2 weeks, so you won’t have a lot of time to learn the set. If you still want to try out, send your submissions (mp3s or links) to [email protected].
If audio-only, a photo would be nice but not required.
Good luck!
Utopia"

I was going to purchase a ticket next Thursday for the Paramount show.
Waiting for some funds; otherwise I would buy a ticket right now. There are only 6 seats left, in my favorite area of the Paramount.
Sounds like big set up where Paul Shaffer is going to be the sub keyboardist (until they nail the winner of this request & learn the Utopia parts)
They have 6 weeks to work with.

The Todd Rundgren Family Band
The Todd Rundgren Family Band.
You'd think that Todd would have more than a few phone numbers of quality keys players he could hire. I fully expect him to hire a professional, but this is still kind of an odd thing for an old pro like him to do, even in fun.
I wonder what Mookie is doing these days?

I believe Roger Powell was the original choice of keyboardist for this tour but he declined since he has almost complete hearing loss and a tour would probably make it 100%,

I meant Mookie Siegel from the David Nelson Band, not Moogy Klingman, the original Utopia keyboard player who is yes, sadly deceased.
An honest mistake though.
Still, I bet Mookie could cover that job.

Utopia has selected a keyboard player and will announce the musician's name shortly.
Drummer's are tough to replace mid-show, especially if it was the mighty Keith Moon -
Scot Halpin 1954-2008
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scot_Halpin
Townshend asked the crowd, "Can anybody play the drums?" He repeated the question, adding forcefully, "I mean somebody good!
At this time, Halpin and his friend were at the left edge of the stage, and his friend, Mike Danese, began noisily telling the security staff, "He can play!" In truth, Halpin had not played in a year, but Danese made enough of a commotion that he had attracted the concert's promoter, Bill Graham.
“Graham just looked at me and said, "Can you do it?" And I said, "Yes," straight out. Townshend and Daltrey look around and they're as surprised as I am, because Graham put me up there.
Halpin was given a shot of brandy for his nerves before sitting at his first drumset since leaving Iowa.

Nice interview. I'm really looking forward to this show. And am worrying because of that.
Expectations are the devil on our shoulder.
No matter, it will be damn fun to see these guys playing some great songs again, as they did when I was young.
They WERE a truly great band.
From that one can always hope.
And...
The Habitual Conceptualizers
A good name for a band.

I know what you' re saying.
But, if your going; Todd is saying to be prepared, the show is going to be over 2 hours long. Probably in chronological order. I am assuming a Todd hit as an encore.
I thought this Todd / Utopia interview was posted on this thread. I guess not. It's 18 minutes long from this past February with Utopia announcing the tour and its plan.
