I am SO EXCITED. This will be a great deal of fun!!!! I hope all good folk and crazy folk and interested folk will make the trip. It would be wonderful to see all your smiling faces.
yeah, still the deal I hear. VW bus = RV pass, which is not free, but is apparently worth it. Would be awesome to see you, Mr. Saddler!!!! (and you too Jonas, if you swing for it. Spoke with some interested old skool Zoner folk o'er the weekend who were thinking....HOTEL)
It's been on my radar but Ive heard from some folks that the layout isn't all that friendly. The last few years have fallen on my family vacation time but this year seems just about right. If I'm going to a fest a hotel is not in the cards. An RV would be sweet though.
Investurmagate the RV then, my friend! Because....yaaaaaah. I hear that it's on a hill, like Mt Jam, ski resort off season kind of stuff. But hey, I've had some really transcendent, wonderful Mountain Jam experiences. And I remember Grey Fox, in the old place, on the hill...when I thought....what will happen, really, in a tent on a hill when I am lying down?
....and then I woke up crumpled in a corner at the bottom right of my tent. Smart seasoned folks brought some bales of hay to even the ground out......
anyway, I hope to see you there. I looked at the lineup again today. FUN! Tom Hamilton and Holly Bowling in some strange config. YAY.
Got my detective googles on. Agreed that Mtn Jam wasn't ideal but for 10 years the first weekend in June was always booked.
Truthfully, if I have a chair to hold up my fat ass up from 5 to 7am I'm good on the sleep side.
Already got my 4 day pass and GLAMPING pass for PEACH 2018.
Crew and I have done PEACH 3 of the last 4 years - did camping on the mountain for 2 of them - a bit of work to get settled in and at times a bit rough to get back to late night when dark and/or rainy and/or lit but was a blast - last year did GLAMPING which was fantastic as got a cool flat spot near the top of one of the stages with big tent set up with cots and they bring you and all your stuff right up, skipping the the masses in trailers pulled by tractors. They even have someone go in to town to re-load food or alcohol daily.
Some younger folk, some older heads but have had NO issues at all.
Very nice scene, security folk not an issue.
Not hard to get around (compared to NOLA JazzFest, let's say) and always easy to find a spot to settle down and to get a drink it a bite to eat.
Biggest issue last few years has been rain (not sure if that is why they moved it up a month).
Sound is good and the lineup looks terrific, with more to be added.
