My Father's Place in Roslyn NY to Re Open 2018

Forums:

Things are progressing, as mentioned last month, after three decades the legendary rock club "My Father's Place" in Roslyn Long Island is going to re-open for concerts as a resident at the newly refurbished Roslyn Hotel.

This is key music news, and if anyone is visiting NYC in the summer of 2018, you may want to check out MFP for a show.

The Blasters are playing at MFP - 8/11/2018. (I know Dave Alvin's booking agent and at the turn of the year, I'll send an email to her, to see if Dave will join his brother Phil. Dave Alvin's tour schedule goes to June)

Tonight. "My Father's Place published some content on a new web site, currently being worked on.

It sounds like MFP is going to be a mostly VIP/upsell type of place from that article. With all those City Winerys popping up like weeds, that space seems to be hot these days. Old people don't want to deal with the crowds/lines/pushing/shoving/etc.

Yes sir. That's why I am going to join as a "friend", to get a week or so advanced notice of shows. As opposed to a VIP member.

Roslyn is 27 miles away. Not around the block....I'll make the trip for the right band. Like the Blasters

who was your dad, Bluelight?

That’s very cool did you ever work there with him?

Hahaha. Bunch of Goofballs.

Happy Holiday guys!

I was there once.  Bromberg Quartet, Xmas '82.

Have a few FM bootlegs recorded there.

That has got to be one of the most abysmal, pitiful, ball-less events calendars I've ever seen. Well done.

The show lineup looks like it was taken from a mid-80's listing of acts playing The Bottom Line!

If anyone goes to the Robert Gordon show, please ask him what happened to the album he was recording of Glenn Danzig covers. I was looking forward to hear what that would turn out like.

I saw a few great shows at MFP in the Eighties.  David Bromberg a couple of times,  Kingfish,  Hot Tuna, Jimmy Buffet,  probably more but I’m not remembering.  Maybe the Tubes and the Plasmatics.

I saw countless shows at MFPs from 79-84.

My last show was a great one - The Eric Burden blues band back in 84.

Shows themselves are cheap still as they want to jingle dinnerware at the newly refurbished Roslyn Hotel.

McCoy Tyner was just added for 8/3. Tickets go on sale this Friday.

Can't make that show.

The Blasters 8/11 is the one show I am going to check out. Dave Alvin may be there...
