Hey Timmy, you inspired me...

Forums:

I did it, and it was a lot of fun  !!

Ever since you put that pic up of your homemade marshmallows ...I have been wanting to try it !  I am prepping for a show/brunch where I will be selling my jam and home baked items, these will be a fun addition to my table. It's a Mardi Gras theme so my next tackle are mini King Cakes.

These came out delicious, so light and airy...now to package them up and label !

I have marshmallow.....everywhere ...;)

Awesome!  They look great.  I made some raspberry rum thumbprints recently but one didn’t have the fancy swirl design yours have.

I’ve been making some really fucking spicy hot sauces lately.

TH, are you using the peppers you grew?

lyn, one of my sisters and I have been making marshmallows for years, but never so sparkly! Those look great.

I am using my peppers.  A mix of everything.  I grew 8 varieties. It’s been getting cold and a few have died off but a majority of them look like they might make it through the winter.

You are so lucky that you may have overwintering plants.

My friend who farms peppers in my backyard (200 plants this year, not the most ever) makes sauces that he divides the peppers into what he calls sweets (still spicy) and pasilla and other types for Mexican sorts of flavor. Some years it's just a mix of everything.

I don't eat really fucking spicy hot sauces but I like really flavorful somewhat spicy. He also grinds dried peppers into powders that are amazingly flavorful.

Thanks Timmy, and the fancy swirl is just s simple cookie press...you should get one the kids will have fun seeing the shapes that come out ( it is a butter cookie, not sweet at all ). That is cool on the hot sauces, sounds like fun experimenting :) .

Judit, I thought i read that you made them as well, have you ever flavored yours ( raspberry, almond or caramel swirl ) as i may try one of these next. The local Amish market here has every kind of baking need, purchase my corn syrup, loose gelatin and many more items at a fraction of the cost.
