Front Gate Tickets claims: "We are festivals"

Forums:

Is Front Gate Tickets truly akin to a content provider?

Was Woodstock or Monterey dependent upon all of the "services" listed by Front Gate?

Another way to put it:  do people travel to see and hear "Front Gate Tickets"?

McDonalds claims that “I’m Lovin’ it!”, but am I, really?

Does Coke REALLY “Add Life”? Has the key to longevity been staring “us” in the face this whole time?

I certainly wouldn't argue about it if you signed up for the "Birthday Club" at the Nitty Gritty:

Let's put it another way:  if there could only be musicians or promoters, which group is necessary for a festival to be festival?

Musicians are buskers.

"Sell With Us"

Every participant, from the land owner that a festival is held on, the musicians, the promoters, PR people and each audience member are collectively "music festivals."

It seems you're in agreement that Front Gate's claim is wildly over the top.

Not at all. I think every participant can rightly make the claim that they are "music festivals."

Would you agree with the statement:

"Bob Weir is the Grateful Dead"

No. The Grateful Dead is a specific entity. Bob Weir is a part of the Grateful Dead.

"Music Festivals" is an all encompassing collective, therefore all participants are rightfully part of the collective of "We"

Take a break from tickets and try HSBG.

congrats fom, you have reached disco stu thread status.

Fair enough about a specific instance of a "larger object".  By the same token, The Grateful Dead never had to contend with "tests" such that the "Beach Boys" or  "The Wailers" have had thrown "their" way in latter years.

Stepping back, do you think "Bob Weir is the Grateful Dead" holds more of an integral association of the core substance vs. the dependency of any given festival upon Front Gate Ticketing's existence?

this is what happens when you only listen to grateful dead, phish and sci

two threads or less a week from now on.

thanks!

Could easily start a new thread about my experience trying to purchase tix for SCI @ Red Rocks just now.

Luckily, it's kind of like a promotional concert posters/flyers:   those weird / hip "poses" bands take part in have nothing to do with the music itself.
