I’ve seen both, and left both of these bands long before the show was over. However, the Family Band is way more sucky than a Dead and Co. John Mayer can at least play guitar.

Saw D&C the night before Thanksgiving. I expected to have a great time. I was pleasantly surprised at the music itself. I thought that it sounded fantastic. Then again, I love late 80s GD, which is where D&C picks up.
Can't say it's any better or worse than anything Phil is doing. I guess that's just opinion.
hard to say which is worse-they both are incredibly boring, stale, unimaginative playing and an overall amateur/sloppy bar band kinda vibe from both. they both overcharge. at least phil isn't (can't play arenas and stadiums) playing awful venues like dead n co (looking for something positive here).
they both provide awful interpretations of dead, to the point it's just laughable at how bad it is.
id say phil is worse atm-just b/c i expect better from him, you know, considering his post dead career, he's melted faces w/ some incredible bands-more so than the remaining 3, imo.
dead&co is to be expected from the bobby camp.
phil has chosen to go down the shitter w/ the family bland, which is odd b/c dude can still throw down. oh well.
Dead & Co is a disgusting overpriced cash grab. The Family band is a mediocre band just having some fun. Really no comparison. Its like apples vs. tritium really.
If Person A spends X amount of cash for Band A and has a great time, and if Person B spends Y amount of cash for Band B and has a great time, who the fuck cares?
If you don't like them, don't go. They ain't grabbing your cash.
