This could have gone in the Coltrane thread or the Shows On Your Radar thread, but it's cool enough that I figured it should have it's own thread.
"02/03/18 - A Love Supreme Celebration w/ Henry Kaiser, Reed Mathis, John Hanrahan, Larry Ochs, feat Steve Kimock + Special Guests (TBD) at Sweetwater Music Hall".
Larry Ochs is a really good "outside" sax player. This should be a good one.

Wow - looks great.
Wow - looks great.
I'll be seeing Leo Kotke at the Herbst same night.
Bay Area so often confounds me with too many musical options....
My very first night spent in SF as a citizen of California (5/27/87) my options were Garcia Band at the Stone, Solo Acoustic Jorma at GAMH or Jethro Tull at the Cow Palace.....
I opted for Jerry! No regrets~

No doubt Stone....
No doubt Stone....
Presuming anecdotes are part of what the Zone is all about:
On that day more than 30 years ago - I took Bart from my crappy apartment in the Fruitvale District of Oakland to SF. Then I hopped on the 7 Haight Bus at Montgomery and like an experience out of a Grateful Dead comic book, within 5 minutes of stepping off the bus on the Haight I was literally given a dose of blotter. 15 minutes later I was aimlessly wondering around the ancient fern grove in GG Park losing my mind. I stumbled into some heads who asked me if would be going to the show that night? I asked them, "what show?" They told me to head to the Stone down in Northbeach. Without realizing the reality of my situation, I literally walked from the Park to Northbeach, a distance of 4 and half miles, fueled on L. Funny thing is, when I got to the line to buy a ticket, guy in front of me was a classmate from my hometown in NJ! Show was epic and I did literally approach the 1 foot high stage and shake Jerry's hand.... (I even went back for night 2 of the run!)
