celebrate, rededicate...Happy Chanuka, to all that celebrate...

it really should be a zoner's favorite holiday...8 days, at least 14 acceptable spellings (for the poleece)...and its called a festival of light????

im in!! when do we start?

David Itkin:

Chanukah celebrates the re-dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem after it was desecrated.

With luck, there will come a day to rededicate Washington, DC after the Trump regime's numerous desecrations.

Happy first night of Chanukah!

Explain why there's Hanukkah and Chanukah?

I've been listening to Toker FM for my Hanukkah jamz!

>>Explain why there's Hanukkah and Chanukah?<<

Answers:

1.Because one is not enough, still working on the alternative spelling for the rest of the nights...

2. Like most words translated into another language, there is room for creative input from many.

3. Possible spelling for one in Europe (Yourope)  and one in America.

4. It's Obama's fault....

Happy Hanukkah VLZ families!

The Ch might be slightly more correct in that the word doesn't begin with an H sound, Yet not exactly a Ch sound either - it's more like clearing your throat.

Noodler  with the Festival of Lights win!

Makes me think of this Klezmatics song

http://www.acousticmusic.com/fame/p02057.htm

“And once we reach a song like Mizmor shir lehanef (Reefer Song), all sense of tradition has wafted out the window like pungent smoke. Sung in Yiddish, the song includes lyrics which translate into English as, “

Shabbos brings Jews rest,
Repose, equilibrium.
Every morning is Shabbos for me…
When I light up a spliff
And start to do all right…
