Trump recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's capital

Forums:

and orders U.S. embassy to move.

Whoa!

tl;dr

What could possibly go wrong?

Well, Jerusalem has been Israel's capital for a long time.   The Knesset is there, as is their Supreme Court and PM's residence.  Walks like a duck, sounds like a duck . . .

The whole Jerusalem isn't Israel's capital idea is one of those polite fictions that is long past its expiration date - very much like the idea that Taiwan is not a real country or the Cuban embargo is still necessary to save the world from Marxism.

I get that that its a thorny symbolic issue for the Palestinians and there will be some hurt feelings, but it won't stop the implementation of a two state solution (backed by needed land for peace) and don't see any reason why the Palestinians can't still have their capital in East Jerusalem while Israel has its capital in West Jerusalem.

i'm your puppet.

 >>>>>there will be some hurt feelings

Unfortunately I'm afraid there will be much more than just hurt feelings.

Perhaps this announcement will not, but the prospects for such appear vanishingly small, considering the attitudes of the current administrations in the US and Israel.

Perhaps, the beginning of the apocalypse?

That would've been a good thing for a USA President to say as part of his/her speech...

What's Jared gonna do w/o a peace process to oversee?

Jail

So when does trumpf decree Mar-A-Lago as the capitol of the USA?

Or maybe Milwaukee?
