Zoners You Would Welcome Back With Open Arms

Forums:

We've lost so many great zoners.

Who would you like to see come back?

lil sheeba , for a start

Everyone.

This place is a tad bit slow.

But I understand people can't ignore other people.

Ignoring people on the internet is hard.

I'd like to see Duke, Cryppie, MikeW, and that crazy Mindy Cougs come back. Stever would also be a welcome addition during the NBA playoffs.

Verve13

One of the most expansive minds on music I've ever seen, hands down.

I'd trade an entire tour of DeadCo setlists with goofy song titles for that amazing dude.

All of them; for they are us.

I miss Spliffy. His work on botched chiropractic care was always worth a read.

Chef Bill and Robin were my favorite zoner couple. Great people.

Does anybody remember the Canadian zoner we called "Sandy"? He was always good for an easy meltdown.

Well said hoover.

who was that one guy who used to go on the long, incoherent rambles? he might have been a teacher???

mikew, jeffg, goldnsilver, chef bill

we have slacker to trade

Jeff Kirley is our friend and needs love like the rest of us. I say give him another chance.

^^ lol, devil

pretty sure the only thing keeping him out, jr, is the math test

>>>who was that one guy who used to go on the long, incoherent rambles? he might have been a teacher<<<

Hey, I've been here all along.

Chancellor, Buncombe, Schwadude, Spackler. The Folder is not the same without this crew

>>This place is a tad bit slow.

This is the best comment in the thread.

Surprised nobody has mentioned PJ. Always made me laugh. Hope he is well

^ good one, Uncle Peej

verve13, Ed, Nick, Lulu, Cryp, Duke, Gamba, psychedelic cheerleader

there's a bunch.

>>Does anybody remember the Canadian zoner we called "Sandy"? He was always good for an easy meltdown.

lol

 oh, yes...I remember

I met verve13 at Hilton Head a few summers back.

great guy. great hang. top notch all around.

kook and brick and cinderoo and chance and jojo.

how do we not have chance in 2018?

now. more than ever.

image_184.jpeg

brick and jojo!  good call.

>>how do we not have chance in 2018?

he was usually the voice of reason.

 FAFA !

Bucky, Key and Brick to name a few. More Huck and Schnee would help. Bunch of great picks up there.

One thing that i think would help is all of us trying to stop grinding their own axe and those that might return not have an axe to grind when they come back, common practice around here. Also perma banning folks should never happen, if you get the perma maybe you pay a fine to get back in after three months. Perhaps impossible.

BAN THE PERMA BAN.

If anyone would like to join Fog and Fafa, follow Fog's trail of tears over to ThePhilZone.net.

fog is only now against perma bans b/c his trash mouth racist friend got the axe. permanently.

whatever happened to jake? dude kinda just disappeared.

sushicometopapa

Kook was a good Zoner.

Puff too.

blaire was a crazy one.

tweedle

Blurt and Blare - the ambiguously gay duo!

cool chick lol

did furthur tour ruin her life?

pj, chance, merri, tracy, gotjorma, fafa

Jambone, I lurked on TheBannedZone a few minutes ago and it looks like they are attempting to deliver to you the following message:

The jerk store called. They're running out of you.

thanks always, delivery boy....

how are the dirty dozen doing these days??

You lurk over there, slack? well this is the first I'm hearing of this. How long has this been going on?

Dogman was a good Zoner. I'd like to see him come back into the fold.

>>cool chick lol

did furthur tour ruin her life?

most likely, she was a barrel of laughs.

Lilly from down under. I always enjoy her more exchanges.

I meant to say I always enjoyed her conversations.

BWAHAHAHAHAH NOW SHSHSHUSHI ON UP AND COMET O PAPA. 9~

Most impressive record keeping system you have there.

Brick has already been mentioned, but I'll mention him again. Fantastic Zoner.

Even the cold sanitation of enforced kindness couldn't dim a man like him.

mike edwards

Edwards was the Poor Man's PJ.

Definitely miss seeing him here.

<<<<Edwards was the Poor Man's PJ.

its funny cause its true.

Is McDoobie currently on hiatus?

Dude announces his departure more often than a Delta screen bank at LaGuardia.

I believe he is currently WWOOF'ing at a location with poor or no wifi. My understanding is an old friend is taking care of his household as well as his domestic partners while he is away.

Something about a "spiritual cleanse of any remaining testosterone," a bit of a 'reboot,' if you will.

What about the other "Doobs"...the insufferable guy who found his real dad on the zone?

I correctly predicted he owned a big Dr. Seuss hat (that he wears!) one time early on and that sett the tone for our relationship.

he wasnt the same guy as video game console chicken bong dude, was he?  i get some of them mixed up.

Ah yes. Doofs, as some zoners called him. I remember him well.

He threw marshmallows at people at shows. Then he recruited his own mother as a drug mule at Red Rocks. Then, he bought a Prius.

It was a long, hard fall.

mrshowgoer

Old Doobs made a damn fine hot sauce.

Doobious & Showgoer are different people.

I liked both as zoners, and Doobs in 3D is a cool guy. He makes a pretty mean hot sauce as well.

Showgoer was an interesting guy in 3D as well and he used to be at every show I was at, but I haven't seen him at all in a long while.

Schnee.

She was a great Zoner. My god could we use her good humor and steady hand around here now.

A little more schnee would balance out a lot of the shit here.

Beast would be a welcome addition to Viva.

Dude was always spot on.

Beast proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he could not handle Viva. He did himself in. It was sad.

Mark - have you considered starting another dbmb and inviting all those old  zoners you miss to join there?

Then - you would not have to miss them anymore and you could be happy and content.

Threads like theses are a precursor to the end times.

>> Dude was always spot on.

Too true. It was a little too much for some. Good thing we have the tenets in place to properly defend the emasculated.

Naw, 6. I know a lot of Zoners would strongly prefer me to the current admin team; but I'm happy just being me.

It's too bad your trolling outpaces your ambition. Although, perhaps that should be expected. Well, I guess you'll have to stick to nostalgic wishin' and hopin' about older days when those older zoners you miss felt like hanging out with you and the other posters here.

We need to go deeper

I thought someone was going to ignore me. Guess he can't resist my charms any longer.

Writing that good, you just can't ignore.

Leave it to Ol' Six to shit on a fun thread celebrating the Zone.

Dick in the dirt, indeed.

Oh my. Some people have a hard time hiding their hurt feelings and some just let it all out in one big sigh.

But please accept my apology and get back to your nostalgia.

Remember that time we hung out at Solid Sound, Sixer?

That was a good time.

I enjoyed how you couldn't help but bring up your Zone nemeses in the physical plane of reality.

No. You were there? Did we talk or just nod our heads and walk on?

Since you are driving this fantasy - why don't you spin the tale.

Particularly how you specifically cited St Mark and Timmy Hoover, how did you put it?

No we talked you actually mentioned in person how you were bothered by the way you were treated on a message board by two people you'd never met in reality.

That was neat.

Your wife looks like Mike Gordon?

Timmy once posted that he thought she did.

If you met me - then you met her too, she was with me. Do you think she looks like Mike Gordon?

Were you with your boyfriend at this festival we supposedly met at?

oof

Say guys, I have a big pot of chili going. How many places should I set?

I'm making green curry here.

It might have been the sun sickness but I think I remember meeting Mike Gordon and some dude in

>> Classic grey slacks and plain dark long sleeve t shirt

Mike W dressed me that day. He is a stickler for classic clothing.

And sickness? Yeah, I bet that follows you around like a puppy dog.

Well, Mark appears to have found something better to do. I think that's a great idea to follow.

Bye bye

get the kids table out , too, Hounder....

Disc 6olf

Lol. Excellent.

Looks like we're back on track here.

6 + RRG = 0

ateix(remainder)

I was happy to see ole White X and Pelle post recently

MikeW and Nick were always good for some pretty classic meltdowns.

Miss those guys.

I always enjoyed Ping Pongs zest for life and love of the Grateful Dead.

Viva definitely doesn't have the diversity the real Zone had.

Posters like Boko, Ping Pong, and Chief Wounded Knee brought different perspectives to the table that I think added a lot to the community.

MikeE and Roland always tried to keep things light, I enjoyed their contributions and had some good times bantering with them. Would love to see Moses around more, and Tofuhead for his long winded posts. Hope he's killing it on the poker tables and selling his Star Wars stuff. Plenty of others are missed as well but those are some west coast zoners who I feel their presence is missing. Glad they moved on with their lives, I'm getting there.

Jughead had a lot to share. He took a lot of shit, but he always rolled with the punches. Good Zoner.

Jughead is a good one.

Lulu, she could zone. Forget who trolled her off the zone due to her love of all things Chicago. Couldn't believe that chased her away, which was unfortunate.

Chef, before the all ham menu.

Popi for sure.

popi.

didnt he post somewhat recently? fine zoner indeed.

man, og philzone was fucking awesome.

great thread, mark.

Thanks, Pyramid.

I think Hounder was right about what he said earlier, unfortunately.

>>Disc 6olf

always in the shallow water

Lilly, Marty Brophy

6, go ahead and take a hike from this thread.

It's clear you have nothing of substance to contribute here.

((((((((((Big Jonny))))))))))

Good call, Slacker.

BJT was an outstanding Zoner.

Is Hall still with us?

Please tell me Hall is still with us.

<<<<Beast proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he could not handle Viva

It was more suicide by cop because he was tired of suffering fools

but he isn't gone now because of anything he said here.

<<<>>>I think Hounder was right about what he said earlier, unfortunately.

for sure. let's rage it till the end tho. fuck it.

<<<<No. You were there? Did we talk or just nod our heads and walk on?

well, there is this.......

Gold Tone Number 6 on Monday, June 26, 2017 – 06:18 am

Next time is in 2 years. Solid Sound is an every other year event now.

Great fest - with great music surrounded by an art museum.

Nice to meet you, ateix. Sorry we didn't meet again at the Nels Cline set. Hope to see you at another show sometime soon

Hall is still around.

And Lulu melted down completely when the Cubs lost in the playoffs in 2015 and Felina had the audacity to give a solid critique of what went wrong. Lulu felt that was betrayal and the top of her head blew off.

Personally I miss Jocomo & Wino. They were both great 49ers & Giants fans who contributed much in the sports folder, but beyond that they were both native Bay Area boys who were there In The Day and contributed a lot to the music conversations, especially when a thread was waxing reminiscent about seeing someone at the Fillmore West, Winterland or Golden Gate Park.

But as I tell my students, if you don't show up you don't matter, so hooray for us who are here.

Carry on.

Well there is what, Hl73?

When I met him at Solid Sound we had what I thought was a nice time together - but since then he has been nothing but a complete asshole to me here. Over the past 6 months he has worked hard to make me want to forget the person I met. I am very close to thinking he was nice on purpose when we met in order to set up a long troll. There it is.

 there is no welcoming back

We are here, or, we are not.

Either way; we are everywhere

whoa, you just blew my mind mannn

I trust everyone still has all their commemorative "who farted?!" merch from the pj and the dogman radio talk show.

Lance, Jocomo is still around. New locale, new life, new handle.

I'll let him share if he chooses.

>>>Felina

Another good Zoner we don't see nearly enough of.

Not one vote for scalperchoad

gdad

Lites

Mrs. Howgoer's contributions are dearly missed.

In honor of all the missing zoners listed in this thread, I'd like to share this special rendition of Taps with the group.

Victim>conspiracy to commit troll.

6 is in a bad way.

fog is only now against perma bans b/c his trash mouth racist friend got the axe. permanently.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Wrong, i don't think anyone should be perma banned, not even you and you deserve it just as much as any of the permabanners. And thanks for proving my axe grinding point.

Victim>conspiracy to commit troll.>>>

Certainly stranger things have happened around here, baited into certain conversations while taking notes to break out at a later date for trolling, premeditated conspiracy troll baiting. Sinister behavior indeed..

Thought it was Mike W that pushed Lulu over the melty edge with all the 50th anniversary Chicago bashing.

Lol. Stop stirring your little shitstew, Fo6. Taste the spoon. You like that?

Never share a spoon with the devil.

a spoonful of sugar helps the Mammon go down.

6, you've been asked politely to leave this thread.

Move along.

And now, we pause for a moment of reflection....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lLmYLw0WRI

RRG contributed earlier, so she can stay.

Obviously nobody will click on her link, but whatever.

I just assume it’s a Foghat or Boston song.

Damn it Mark. I wasn't going to click on it, but now that link is like THE RED BUTTON.

I HAVE to click on it!!!

Prepare for somethin6 dissapointin6.

bwa ha ha ha

you KNOW you want to click it

Ooof.

That's one time the five-second commercial before a youtube video begins came in handy.

<<<>>>i don't think anyone should be perma banned

i'm right there with you.

Sharkm

Someotherfucker

Colt

i thought 6 was leaving and never coming back lol

20 + in this one

Boo hoo chachoo. I'm still here.

I'm not there.

Dr 6euss

That's Theodor 6eisel, atrollix.

Do we need to go deeper ?

troodle. troodle.

chaseutley

Leave the thread, really means don't ever leave because i miss you terribly when you're gone and i'm bored to tears without you.

open minds and all

>>Leave the thread, really means don't ever leave because i miss you

"You told me goodbye, how was I to know
You didn't mean goodbye, you meant please don't let me go?"

>>troodle. troodle.

he was a troublemaker and zippy apologist.

to click or not to click ....THAT is the question

Hey Mark, cool thread.

and in addition to most of those already named, I would also add Poncho, Doogels and the Rev Shabbazz.

I wish God would fix ole Buckys login information for him.

The lone set of footprints in the sand is when the Zoners you would welcome back with open arms carried you.

SoCalBill.

I was thinking of him today because I think he works at the Getty Center, which is in trouble because of the fires.

Gilman and Buncombe could definitely bring the funny.

Beast ...:)

I adore that kid , he knew just how to push my buttons and ruffle my feathers without being mean , he challenged me to be a better zoner many a time...wink

I hope he and Lil P are doing well, they are so cute and 2 zoners I was happy to meet at the Nokia during that wonderful run of magic n mayhem !
