Consent on the Dance Floor

Forums:

Finally!  Guidelines for those awkward moments when you're dancing at a show and just not sure if your partner is into it.

Princeton University wants to ensure that students know how to ask each other to dance, and so recently issued instructions for obtaining “consent on the dance floor.”

The post indicates that “Do you wanna dance?” is an appropriate opening, and that responses such as “Absolutely!,” “Yeah! Let’s do it!,” and “I’d love to!” are all ways of consenting to the question.

Beyond simply “asking & waiting for an answer,” the post also asserts that “frequently checking in with your dance partner” is required in order to maintain consent until the music stops, suggesting that the person who extended the invite periodically ask “Hey, are you still into this?” and volunteer that “We can stop if you aren’t.”

No one can say that you don't get your monies worth for a Princeton education.

Reminds of of the old oldest joke I remember.

That one about the guy that had the wooden eye and couldn't build up the courage to ask for a dance joke.

Fortunately I’ve always been with a willing partner so I don’t have to worry about that stuff.

Finally an end to non consensual dancing!

When I was in elementary school they forced me to dance with girls.

Princeton U.  Males are about 75 % Gay.

Plenty pretty Girls there,  and they dress Fashionably.

So if you're a Boy and want to dance with a Girl,  odds are in your favor.

Make sure there is a Bible's width between the partners.

I usually just ask a woman who is they playin wit?

then tell them to back that azz up!

everything usually takes care of itself from there.
