Dead & Company North Bay Fire Benefit at AT&T Park, SF this Thursday the 9th

Forums:

Who's going?? Figuring this will be like a bridge school show with 30-45 minute sets. Would love an extra but blew my loot on JRAD & TAB tickets.

As reported, the Band Together Bay Area concert will raise funds for victims of the destructive North Bay firestorm. Yesterday, the initial lineup for the November 9th event at AT&T Park in San Francisco was revealed. Today, more acts have been added to the extremely diverse bill including Dead & Company.

Dead & Company featuring Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti and Oteil Burbridge join Raphael Saadiq and Rancid on a lineup that already included Metallica, Dave Matthews and G-Eazy. All artists outside of Matthews have strong Bay Area roots. Burbridge does have a tour closer in NYC on the books for November 9. JamBase has reached out to reps to find out who will play bass with Dead & Company at Band Together Bay Area (Update: Oteil is in).

This show is being streamed free.

Lots going on in The Bay Area this weekend...

The sets are way too short.

The show would have been better if it had just been three acts, or if they could have done it on a weekend and started the show earlier.

D&C will get an hour or a bit less, and Metallica only gets about an hour as well.

Not enough time for the effort involved to get there.

D&C start at 8:35 and play less than one hour.

Salesforce could just donate a portion of Dreamforce revenue.

Bobby sit-in on "Enter Sandman".

Guess Oteil didn’t want to miss this gig lest they should find another, perhaps even more qualified, bass player with Bay Area roots.

Lesh they should

7:40-11pm peeks my interest

Dave & Tim seen them @ The Warfield 2 show run in 1997 security snuck me in 1st night since i couldn't get a tix after working 2 hours trying. He seen me outside on the rail all dejected and he said I thought you told me you got a ticket earlier? I only got one for tomorrow not tonight I told him. He said he would be right back then after a few minutes he opened the door and said you can use the bathroom real quick now and while passing him he said to use my ticket to night two floor to get on floor night one they will never know and to enjoy the show. Coolest thing ever!!

Metallica seen them on Master of Puppets tour (Worcester Centrum) with Cliff Burton. They were opening for Ozzy on his Ultimate sin tour.

Wow, the Doors get the longest set, who's singing these days, Astbury?

they should play a 45 min. Dark star

I freaking love End of Concert. Those ladies RAWK!

Open-ended set time, too.

They could play all night.

there is not a band on this earth that could get me to sit through a set of rancid and then a set of dave mattews.

surely the bay area has suffered enough with the fires, do we really need rancid and dave mattews?

I wonder if Metallica will play fight fire with fire?

The goal of any benefit like this is to raise as much money as possible for the cause. By having a lot of different acts, the event appeals to a much larger donating demographic than if there was only 3 acts. I have no doubt that a number of Rancid fans and Dave Matthews fans will dig deep and donate. If you don't want to sit through any acts performance, that is your choice. Dig deep anyway and make a donation without going to the show.

Why you no like Tim Timebomb?

Pretty sure this show will be fun if you can mix the right amount of drugs together. I can't quite pin down which ones though.

Will it be streamed?

Rancid > Doors

shoulda use pressure treated wood...

<<<<Will it be streamed?

Metallica, Dead & Company, Dave Matthews, Raphael Saadiq, Rancid and G-Eazy are the performers set to play at the event. The concert will be streamed live on Facebook, Twitter as well as the MetallicaTV YouTube channel this Thursday night starting at 5:45 p.m. PT. Metallica will headline with a 75-minute set after G-Eazy, Rancid, Dave Matthews, Dead & Company and Raphael Saadiq. Viewers can contribute to fire relief during the webcast by clicking the “donate” button on the stream or by texting “TOGETHER” to 20222.

^^ This.

But instead it's gonna be:

Truckin > Cassidy, TN Jed, Loose Lucy (with Sammy Hagar), FOTD, and Touch of Grey.

It could be a lot worse than that.

I have to believe they'll squeeze a little Rhythm Devils bit in there.

Hopefully.

I anticipate being there, but so far I have no plan.

big rainstorm moving thru NorCal right now, extending southward to the Bay Area

concert-goers should be prepared for light amounts of rain during the day & evening

A riveting beginning.

It’s not going to heat up until G-EZ and Mickey rap together

22 minute set, before it gets Rancid

Matt Freeman looks like he just played 9 at Tilden.

GEZ spitting fire he’s relentless

re: Doors @ 4:30

I didn't know the Doors were still playing together

DeadCo up now

Still can't understand why the drumming is so anemic. I know Billy can play better than that

Okay I made a donation.

On behalf of all you deadbeats.

You're welcome.

FOTM

are you kidding me

seems inappropriate for this benefit...

Otiel singing a new verse for FOTM??

A hog on a log?

Watching Mayer play is making me sea sick.... . .. ... .... .....

Seriously Fire on the Mountain? Why don’t they segue into Burning Down the House while they are at it? Wow

How many shows must a Jerry clone have seen to be legit?

Old verse.

agreed that FOTM might not have been a good song choice here

but it was better than, say, Iko

"... gonna set your tail on fire..."

yikes

good thing they scraped the throwing stones > nfa

Bill and Mick need GPS to find the one, or what?

Barry Bonds getting booed at AT&T Park, don't remember ever hearing that before.

apparently, here's the unfamiliar verse to FOTM that Otiel sang... lyrics courtesy of http://www.whitegum.com/intro.htm

Fireman, fireman, call off your dog
This isn't a blaze, it's just a hog in the log
Cut up in sections, squirming alive
Lost to the world on that fifty-cent jive
There's a fire on the mountain, running around
What doesn't go up can never come down

That's part of Mickey's rap version.

I prefer the verse that ends you gotta lay it down dirty and play it back clean.

One

Damn, missed it, at least I get Enter Sandman, lol. Looks pretty good, how was Deal?

Playing in the Band>Deal>Scarlet Begonias>Fire on the Mountain>Not Fade Away>Touch of Grey

The show is available in it's entirety at that link above.  Just click on the timeline where you want to watch.

Went straight to the Deal. Actually a bit before. First time I have ever seen this band perform. This jam is OK. Nothing special really. But decent background music. Ahh Deal.

>>>The show is available in it's entirety at that link above.

Not any more! "This live stream is unavailable"

FOTM was an obvious choice, don't see why anyone is surprised.

"Bill and Mick need GPS to find the one, or what?"

LOL.  Mickey screws up Billy big time.  Go back to a single drummer and get some flow.

Sneakers in a dryer. Even if they just give Mickey a hand drum and a mic(that only comes through his monitor) they'd be better off.

Just awful.  That band blows.

Webcast up for download on dimeadozen. If anyone wants a copy on dvd, hit me up [email protected]

Didn't think they were clicking too well last night. Drums seemed out of sync and just never gelled. Bet there wasn't much rehearsing.  Hopefully they step it up for the actual tour.

I only caught the not fade away and touch of grey but the band was a super anemic mess. Low volumed,  Bobby tempo, and sloppy. Looked like a shitty rehearsal. I did only hear two songs.  I swear I have seen this band be good a few times.  1st night of citifield 2016 was pretty rockin' from what I remember.

In other news I've never really listened to any metallica. I kept the music going and i thought they were good. Never heard them play live
