It is very within the realm
It is very within the realm of possibility that they indict Manafort on crimes largely unrelated to the Trump campaign in order to get him to talk, but that that's as far as it ends up going. It's important to keep that possibility in mind. That said, Mueller's team has many more interviews scheduled and this isn't the end of the investigation, and the new revelations this week that Cambridge Analytica (with whom Kushner worked closely) reached out to Assange about helping disseminate the stolen emails probably have opened another front in the inquiry. But these things take time.
